Chapter 1374

Charlie was all eyes for Emily, leaning in to kiss her cheek and whispering something in her ear.

In an instant, Emily felt a rush of heat on her face and pushed him away, “Back off"

Charlie chuckled, a mischievous glint on his handsome face. "Don't be shy, you'll get used to it."

Emily bit her lip, "Charlie James"

"Call me Charlie!" He cut her off immediately.

"No!" Emily was both humiliated and annoyed.

"Just Charlie!" He insisted.

Emily observed him in silence, "Charlie, what are we to each other?"

"Dating!" He answered without hesitation.

"And what kind of dating?" she inquired further.

He chuckled, "The legitimate kind, of course"

"For three months?" Emily asked.

He paused for momentarily, "Do you want it to end in three months?"

Emily was silent.

"Let's give it a shot!" Charlie said gently.

Three months were enough for him to figure out Emily's place in his heart and for her to see if she could fall for him.

Emily's eyes were clear. After a moment, she responded, "I agree, but I don't want to go public in these three months."

It was her means of escape.

Estelle came out from behind, greeting with a smile, "Charlie!"

Charlie beamed, "Ms. Sampson, Estelle, good afternoon. Where's Jonathan?"

"He had some work at the company!" Estelle headed towards the living room.

Magdalen followed, handing over the stuff she bought for Kya and Emily to Charlie and raised an eyebrow, "Did you really score the sweetest catch?"

Charlie laughed, "You guys have taken care of Emily for so long, it's my turn to look after her."

Magdalen nodded in acknowledgement of Emily's hardships and said, "You better not hurt her, or Ella and I won't let you off so easily!"

“I'm glad that Emily has friends like you by her side.” Charlie said with a smile.

Magdalena raised an eyebrow, not giving a clear response. She entered the living room carrying the cake she had purchased for Kya.

"Kya, come out! The beautiful Magdalen is here!" she yelled in a loud and upbeat voice.
