Simone held her hand, grinning, “So, you’re into Jonathan too, huh?” 

Carmella blushed and hung her head, muttering, “It’s all your fault, always bringing this stuff up.” 

“That’s more like it!” Simone said with a warm smile, “You’re a catch, so you should be setting your sights on the top–tier guys. Don’t be fooled by mediocre men.” 

Carmella chuckled awkwardly, “I’ve been taking your advice, never had a boyfriend.” 

“Good for you! Don’t worry, I’ll help you figure it out, and Estelle won’t get a foot in the Lamont family’s door!” said Simone, brimming with confidence. 

Bennett, catching a glimpse of the mother–daughter duo in the rear–view mirror, was lost in thought but kept his lips sealed. 

Later that night. 

After her shower, Simone lay in bed while her maid did her facial skincare routine. Bennett walked in and dismissed the maid. He then asked, “So, you want Carmella to marry into the Lamont family?” 

“Don’t tell me you hadn’t thought of it!” Simone retorted. 

Bennett admitted he had, but seeing Jonathan take Estelle away in front of everyone earlier that day changed his mind. After all, Jonathan and Estelle were already married! 

He pondered for a moment and said, “Jonathan seems really into Estelle. If she marries into the family, it’s all the same to us.” 

“No way, it’s totally different!” Simone sat up, removing her face mask, “Look at how Estelle treats us, no respect at all. Even if she marries into the Lamont family, it won’t do us any good. But Carmella is different, she adores us. And, Carmella is a better match for Jonathan. Only a marriage alliance with Carmella could possibly convince the Lamont family. As for Estelle, she’s just someone they’d dismiss. Beauty doesn’t hold much value in the eyes of a wealthy family like the Lamonts.” 

Seeing Simone already had a plan, Bennett asked, “So, what’s the game plan?” 

“I’m visiting the Lamonts this Saturday. I’ll bring Carmella along to see their reaction. If they take a liking to her, you should get dad to start negotiating the marriage right away,” Simone laid out her plan, eager to put it into action. 

Bennett hesitated. He had already married Estelle off to the Lamonts, which they weren’t too pleased about. Now he was supposed to marry off another daughter to them? Would they agree? 

But he couldn’t voice his concerns to Simone, so he just watched as she meticulously planned for Carmella. 

Two days in advance, Simone had already phoned the Lamont family about her visit. Cathrine Lamont, considering their families were already connected, agreed. Her easy agreement only boosted Simone’s confidence, so she set the visit for Saturday morning. 

Simone was quite busy during these two days, preparing gifts for the Lamont family, buying new clothes and jewelry for Carmella, and making thorough preparations. She wanted to present Carmella like a classy socialite who would catch Cathrine’s eye at first glance. 

Carmella took the upcoming visit to the Lamont family very seriously, investing all her work time in selecting clothes and preparing for the trip. 

In no time, Saturday morning arrived. Simone, with Carmella all dolled–up, arrived at the Lamont family’s residence right on the dot at 10 a.m. 

As soon as they stepped into the Lamont’s courtyard, Simone gave Carmella a look and whispered, “See the difference between the haves and the have–nots?” 

The Lamont mansion was situated in the prime location of J City, nestled between a mountain and a lake with year–round spring–like weather. The surrounding environment was comparable to a top–tier holiday resort, and it was not far from the city center, like a peaceful haven in the bustling J City. 

Living here meant more than just being rich. It was a symbol of status and wealth in J City! 

Carmella nodded, her heart pounding at the thought of possibly becoming a part of the Lamont family. 

A uniformed servant led them to the living room. Upon entering, she respectfully announced, “Madam, Mrs. Macclain and Ms. Macclain have arrived!”
