Although Daisy wasn't completely satisfied with Xavier, she couldn't ignore his good looks, so she tentatively asked him, "Is this a call from your shop? Your BBQ place is doing pretty well, huh? How's the profit?"
If it's profitable, she might consider it.
Xavier nodded slightly. "Not bad."
Daisy bashfully and gently laughed. "How about we go to a movie after dinner?"
Just as Xavier was about to refuse, Norah suddenly picked up her phone. "Hello? I'm on a blind date right now, not at home. He looks decent but doesn't look loaded. Just runs a small BBQ joint; no brand names from head to toe. I must've been conned by the matchmaker! I shouldn't have lent my membership card to boost his image. If he can't even pay the bill, it'd be so embarrassing! By the way, a few drops of soup fell on my dress today. I spent over 40,000 dollars on this dress, but I only claimed $6,800. Good deal, right? If the date is a bust, I can't waste an opportunity!"
Upon hearing this, Daisy stood up immediately, giving Norah a nasty look.
Xavier was stunned to see Norah talking to herself, but once he figured it out, he couldn't help but laugh.
Daisy looked at Xavier, embarrassed. "What are you laughing at?"
Xavier took a sip of water and casually responded, "What's it got to do with you, Ms. Daisy?"
Daisy was both annoyed and angry, but she didn't know how to vent, so she glared at Norah. "Who the hell are you, mimicking me?"
Norah looked at her in surprise and asked, "Did I mimic you? I'm just on the phone with my friend!"
"Who are you dating?" Daisy asked, frowning. She wasn't as bold as before because Xavier was there.
Norah looked at Xavier and asked, "I'm here to date him. I'm next in line, any problem?"
Daisy looked at Xavier in surprise.
Xavier casually sipped his tea, poker-faced.
Norah stood up and walked over to Xavier. "Sir, are you satisfied with Ms. Daisy? If you are, I'll leave. If not, is it my turn?"
Daisy's eyes widened in anger. "Mr. Flemmings, have you double-booked?"
Xavier nodded. "Ms. Daisy, you can leave. I'll pick up the tab; there’s no need for you to embarrass yourself."
Realizing he understood her intentions, Daisy’s face turned from pale to red. She angrily grabbed her bag and stood up to leave.
"Hold on!" Norah suddenly stopped her, a stern look on her face. "Ms. Daisy, you forgot. I bought your dress for $6,800. If you want to leave, take off the dress!"
Daisy's eyes widened, staring at Norah in disbelief.
Norah raised an eyebrow. "What, did I not make myself clear?"
Just then, the surrounding customers who had seen Daisy's unfair treatment of the waitress earlier stood up to defend Norah. "That's right, this lady bought your dress; you've already taken the money so you should give her the dress!"
"Hurry up and take it off; don't be unfair!"
"Coming to the 9th Mansion trying to take advantage of a waitress, who's the real embarrassment here!"
