Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 1864

Adrian arched an eyebrow, “So you quit because you and Mr. Flemmings had a bit of a tiff?”

Judging from the way they interacted just now, he sensed that things didn’t look too rosy.

Norah looked down and murmured softly, “Nothing’s wrong. It’s just me... I wasn’t up to snuff, and I don’t want to be a burden anymore. Besides, my presence or absence doesn’t really make a difference to him!”

Adrian chuckled in puzzle, “How could you not be up to snuff?”

Norah remained silent.

Adrian flashed a dashing smile, “Well, it doesn’t matter if you are going there or not. You never should have gone there in the first place!”

“Yeah,” Norah said with a self-deprecating laugh, muttering to herself, “I never should have gone.”

“Now that you’ve got more free time over the weekends, we could go hiking or catch a movie,” Adrian said, with his eyes alight with anticipation.

Norah nodded absentmindedly, “Sounds great!”

“It’s a date then!” Adrian laughed, suddenly grabbing Norah’s wrist and sprinting forward, “Come on, the cake’s going to melt!”

Norah yelped in surprise and hustled after him.

Xavier heard the cheers behind him and turned around, only to see the two of them running under the night sky, lit by fireworks, their youth displayed undeniably even in darkness. He watched for a moment before turning to continue on his way.

Inside the banquet hall, everyone shared the wedding cake Norah had specially ordered. Magdalen passed the first slice to Kya, “Enjoying Belinda’s wedding?”

Kya’s bright eyes shone with innocence, “It’s fun, and your prince is so handsome!”

Everyone chuckled at her childlike candor. Magdalen beamed, “Thank you, my little darling!”

“I have!” Mrs. James nodded in realization, “Very impressive indeed!”

“That’s her. Talented, pretty, and sweet. Jonathan adores her,” Catherine sang praises of Estelle. “So, I wouldn’t dream of pressuring her. As long as she’s happy, I can wait.”

Mrs. James quickly added, “My daughter-in-law’s no slouch either, a designer, not as famous as KING, but she’s got talent.”

Catherine was taken aback, “We must have been too caught up with our busy lives to keep in touch. We don’t even know each other’s daughters-in-law!”

Overhearing Mrs. James join in, another lady smiled ingratiatingly, “Charlie’s girlfriend must be someone exceptional to catch his eye!”

Yet another lady chimed in, “She must be from a distinguished family, both talented and beautiful!”

Mrs. James smiled graciously, “It’s a different era; we don’t need to worry about matching social status. I don’t care about that. As long as Charlie’s happy, that would be fine!”
