Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2097

His throat bobbed as he yanked the comforter over her.

Sophia immediately flung it off, “Ugh, it’s boiling in here!”

Jason pulled the comforter back over her, pinning it down so she couldn't move. Sweat beaded on his own forehead.

Wasn’t it supposed to be chills when someone had a fever? Why was she always the exception?

He found her clothes and stuffed them under the covers, fumbling to dress her. Even if he called for a maid, she had to be clothed first. What would people think if they saw her undressed in his room?

In his fluster, and not having much experience with bras, it took him a while to get it on her - naturally brushing against places he shouldn't. He steeled himself, pretending she was still the little girl who had just arrived at the Quintin household.

By the time he got her thin sweater on, his back was drenched with sweat.

Taking a deep breath, Jason calmed himself a bit and turned to the desk to find some fever reducer.

He'd always taken care of her when she was sick as a child, so he knew exactly what medicine she needed.

Without any fuss, Jason cradled her in his arms, popped the medicine into her mouth, and carefully fed her water.

Sophia cooperated, swallowing the medicine with her eyes closed.

Afterwards, she snuggled into his chest, clinging tightly to his waist, burrowing into his embrace.

Jason set down the water glass and gently caressed her burning cheek, murmuring, “Thinking I’m Robin, huh?”

“Robin, I feel awful,” Sophia murmured back, following his lead.

A wave of deep pain flickered through Jason's somber eyes as he looked down at the girl. His trembling hand, warmed by her fever, still felt cold as ice.

Eventually, Sophia broke into a sweat, her fever breaking.

Jason laid her back down on the bed, tucking her in before he watched her fall into a deep sleep. Only then did he change his own clothes and stepped out of the room.

The maid saw him and asked, “How is Miss Sophia?”
