At the Gilder residence, Mrs. Gilder was on the phone when Sophia walked in. She finished her call quickly, saying, "Alright, let's leave it at that for now. We'll talk later. Goodbye."
After hanging up, Mrs. Gilder welcomed Sophia warmly, "I've had a few outfits made for you. Come and try them on."
Sophia took off her puffy jacket, her short hair and youthful smile radiating charm, "I already have plenty of clothes. You really didn't have to!"
"A girl can never have too many outfits," Mrs. Gilder insisted as she pulled a dress out of the box, "Try this one on first."
Sophia unfolded the dress, surprised, "A dress?"
Mrs. Gilder smiled warmly, "What's wrong with a dress? You're a designer, yet you dress so casually all the time!"
Blushing, Sophia chuckled and grabbed the dress, "I'll try it on."
"Go ahead!" Mrs. Gilder waved her off affectionately.
Sophia took the dress to the guest room on the first floor to change. When she emerged, Mrs. Gilder's eyes lit up, "You look stunning!"
The black velvet dress fit perfectly, complementing Sophia's short hair and adding a touch of elegance and playfulness.
She twirled around, "Does it look good?"
"Beautiful. Our Sophia just doesn't realize how gorgeous she can be when she dresses up!" Mrs. Gilder expressed her fondness openly.
Sophia walked over and hugged Mrs. Gilder's shoulders, "It's all thanks to your great taste, Gina. You chose such a beautiful dress!"
Mrs. Gilder was even more delighted, "Try the others later."
"I will, after the meeting. Jason asked me to come over for a meeting. I'll try them on after," Sophia said with a smile.
Mrs. Gilder frowned, "A meeting during the holidays?"
She entered, finding Jason absorbed in paperwork at his desk.
Placing her laptop down, she quietly approached, spooning a piece of pear and playfully announced, "Jason, open wide!"
Jason looked up, startled, silent.
Sophia then noticed the video call on his computer, the surprised faces of Hannah Carlin and others staring back at her. She blushed furiously, darting to the side in shock.
Jason calmly addressed his colleagues, "Let's revisit that proposal in a bit. I need a ten-minute break."
Closing his laptop, he turned to Sophia, a soft glow in his eyes, "Wearing a dress today?"
Sophia, her face a mix of red and white, had lost all interest in discussing the dress, gritting her teeth, "Didn't you say the meeting was in half an hour?"
"It got moved up. Didn't you get the memo?" Jason asked.
