Jason knew Sophia was shy, so he turned and left, giving her space.
Sophia stretched lazily in bed, rolling around with a bubbly joy in her heart.
When they left for work in the morning, Jason took the stuffed dog with him, her "Nick" that she gave to him, promising to give her a Nick in return someday.
Arriving at the office together, Sophia had barely settled in when she got a call from Mr. Waldo about the custom anniversary jewelry she was making for him.
Their anniversary was just five days away, and Mr. Waldo was anxious to know if it could be done in time.
Sophia assured him, "I'll call GK right away and make sure it's in your hands before your anniversary."
Mr. Waldo was grateful, inviting Sophia to his and his wife's anniversary celebration. Sophia tried to decline, but Mr. Waldo insisted, "The jewelry you designed will make our day complete. Please, we insist!"
Feeling the warmth of Mr. Waldo's love for his wife, Sophia couldn't help but accept his invitation with a cheerful heart.
Mr. Waldo was overjoyed with her acceptance and thanked her again before hanging up.
Perhaps it was Mr. Waldo's affection that lifted her spirits, as Sophia found herself humming to the tune Jason played in his car that morning while she worked.
Tina barged in with a grin, "Sophia, you seem extra happy today?"
Sophia, feigning indifference, replied, "Don't I always?"
"Not at all, you were down at the party yesterday. But today, the moment Mr. Gilder shows up, you're all smiles!" Tina teased, holding a stack of papers. "Come on, admit it!"
"Alright, you got me," Sophia conceded with an open smile.
Tina's eyes sparkled with gossip, eagerly sitting across Sophia, "So, it's true? You and Mr. Gilder are a thing?"
Time flew by until Tina popped in, "Sophia, it's lunchtime. Are you joining us, or should I bring something back for you?"
Wearing her signature black-rimmed glasses and with a cheerful grin, Tina teased, "With your good mood, we're definitely eating out, right?"
Just then, Sophia's phone buzzed. It was a message from Jason:
[Got held up with some work. Wait for me? Let's have lunch together in ten.]
Sophia casually put her phone down, telling Tina, "You guys go ahead. I'm almost done with this sketch. I'll catch up."
Tina giggled, "Waiting for Mr. Gilder, huh?"
Sophia, half-jokingly, picked up her draft as if to swat Tina, who quickly scampered off, laughing.
