Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2464

The room was silent, but Sophia's mind was anything but. Everything Jason had done and said that evening kept circling in her thoughts. His scent lingered on the sheets and in her breath, making it impossible for her to find peace.

She didn't dare to move for what felt like half an hour, then, pretending to be asleep, she turned to face Jason.

Jason didn't stir, leading her to believe he was already asleep. But in the next moment, her hand was gently enveloped by his.

Sophia felt her heart race like a trapped rabbit, yet the warmth of his palm brought her a sense of calm.

He didn't do anything else, just held her hand, caressing it a few times before holding it tightly.

Sophia's lips curved into a small, contented smile as she drifted off to sleep.

The following days continued in a similar pattern. They went to work together, attended meetings, shared lunches, and after work, they returned to Jason's place to prepare dinners they both enjoyed.

Sophia hadn't given her explicit consent, so Jason maintained a respectful distance, never crossing any boundaries.

Friday was Mr. Waldo's wedding anniversary, and Sophia had previously informed Jason that she would be attending the celebration at the hotel.

Mr. Waldo was a respected figure in J City, and the banquet was attended by many. Upon learning of Sophia's arrival, he personally came over with his wife to greet her.

Sophia finally met Mrs. Waldo, a woman in her fifties with fair skin and a gentle gaze, clearly adored in her marriage.

Mrs. Waldo was wearing a necklace and pearl earrings designed by Sophia and greeted her warmly, "Thank you, I truly adore this jewelry set."

Sophia chuckled, "You should thank Mr. Waldo. He went over the designs with me again and again, just to make sure you'd be pleased."

Mrs. Waldo glanced at her husband with a tender smile, "He's always been patient!"

"Congratulations!" Sophia handed Mrs. Waldo a small gift she had prepared.
