Xavier wanted to curse. How could it be a coincidence that she dressed like that and went to the pier in the middle of the night? He didn’t buy it!

They had been together for so many years, so they understood each other’s expressions well 

The male nurse helped Xavier go to the bathroom and gave him a quick wipe down. 

When Estelle returned, she had breakfast in hand and said, “If you need to use the bathroom, just say so. I’ve hired a male nurse who can come anytime.” 

Xavier grinned mischievously and tried to give her a hard time, “What’s the point of hiring a male nurse? Aren’t you supposed to take care of me? Just do it all yourself!” 

Estelle shot him a cold stare, “Do you think I wouldn’t dare?” 

Xavier hesitated, and then kept quiet. 

After breakfast, when the doctor came to apply an IV, Jonathan called Estelle asking if there was anything he could help with. 

Estelle went out to answer the call, saying it was just their grandfather catching a cold and wanting to see her. Nothing serious. She would return to J City in a few days. 

Jonathan reminded her a few more things before hanging up. 

When Estelle returned to the room, the doctor had left and Xavier was resting with his eyes closed. Estelle sat on the chair next to him playing games, and both of them ignored each other. 

Estelle faithfully brought Xavier water every hour, undeterred by his harsh words. He realized that his cold demeanor couldn’t drive her away, so he decided to cooperate. 

In the afternoon, five or six of Xavier’s men arrived to visit him. They too bore the marks of last night’s altercation, with swollen faces that looked rather comical. 

Estelle remained seated in the corner, engrossed in her games, not even bothering to glance up as the men spoke to Xavier. 

“Xavier, everyone else has disappeared since last night. It’s just a handful of us left now. That treacherous Connor is hiding somewhere. When we find him, he won’t get off easy!” 

“Xavier, our company’s land was bought by the Lamont Group. They’re going to tear down the warehouse. We have no company now!” 

“But I heard that the Lamont Group manager who fought against us last night got fired. Don’t know if it’s true or not?” 

“If he got fired, Connor won’t join the Lamont Group either!” 

The six of them reported the situation to Xavier together. Xavier’s expression was cold, “I know. Find a place to live for now, we’ll talk more when I’m discharged
