Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 322

Chapter 322

Jonathan stood on the balcony, hands in his pockets, his back exuding indifference, while the towering buildings in the distance faded in the gloomy sky into a desolate, pale scene

The weather was gloomy, and the light was dim, obscuring the maris complexion.

He glanced back at the girl who had followed him and sneered, “Is that your grandpa in the hospital

room?”

Estelle’s expression remained neutra! as she lowered her gaze. “I’m sorry, I lied to you. I didn’t return to C City.”

“Who is he?” Jonathan inquired sharply.

“He’s just a friend,” Estelle replied.

Jonathan scoffed dismissively, “A friend with whom you share the same bed?”

Estelle was taken aback by his remark, her brows furrowing, but she chose not to provide any further explanation.

Observing her reaction, Jonathan’s anger intensified. He recalled the night she had left, his concerns about her encountering danger in the late hours, his worries about the cousin she had mentioned, and his anxiety regarding potential issues at her home. He wished he had driven to C City back then

to find her.

However, her deception turned all of Jonathan’s concerns into a joke, and her current silence doused his feelings of warmth and tenderness.

He didn’t mince words, “Where you go and who you are with actually has nothing to do with me! We’re not even lovers, just sleeping together at night, we can break it off at any time!”

Estelle turned pale and looked at him.

Jonathan positioned himself with his back to the light, the somber sky casting a gray shadow on his face, accentuating his sharp features. “You misunderstood our relationship and your place in it, which led you to hide things and deceive me. Frankly, I couldn’t care less!”

The sky was oppressively overcast, devoid of any breeze. The air felt heavy and suffocating, contributing to the unsettling atmosphere.

Estelle’s face mirrored the pallor and desolation of the sky. Slowly, she clenched her hands, feeling as if the buildings across the street were a roaring beast ready to pounce and engulf her entirely.

Jonathan awaited an explanation from her, but she remained silent, her complexion growing even

paler.

She’d always remained quiet in her defense, considering silence as her protective armor.

Infuriated to the core, his lack of visible anger made him even more malicious, “If you find something or someone that makes you happier, we can break up anytime. We don’t need to hide anything from each other; it’s not like we can’t live without one another, right?”

Estelle’s heart clenched, as if there was a hole in her chest. The stifling air suddenly rushed in, squeezing her internal organs, making it difficult for her to breathe.

She didn’t want to listen to this man anymore, nor did she want to see him any longer. She turned around and walked away without looking back, her pace even picking up as she quickly disappeared from Jonathan’s sight.

Under the gloomy weather, Jonathan’s countenance contorted, resembling a ticking time bomb on the verge of explosion.

The overwhelming stench within the hospital became unbearable for him, triggering a pounding headache. Determined to escape the discomfort, he swiftly departed, unwilling to remain for

another moment.

Upon reaching the underground parking garage, he hurriedly entered his car and slammed his foot on the gas pedal. The vehicle shot forward with remarkable speed, akin to an unleashed arrow.
