Magdalen started the car and chuckled, “But I think he’s actually pretty good to you!” 

Estelle couldn’t think of anything to say. Although Manley had ulterior motives, he indeed helped her a lot and solved many troubles for her. So sometimes, even if she was so angry that she wanted to punch him, she still held back. 

Estelle took a deep breath. Today’s drama had brought her relationship with Jonathan to an all-time low. 

And that dessert shop was also an issue. Everyone talked lightly about it during dinner, but it was a publicly listed chain store, you can imagine its value. 

She felt uneasy about taking over someone’s store for no reason. 

Magdalen seemed to see what she was thinking and smiled lightly, “Although the dessert shop is worth a lot of money, it’s not much for the Raye family. You’re not losing out by using a dessert shop to exchange for the Raye family’s reputation. Just take it with ease for now and think about it later.” 

Estelle nodded, and that’s all she could do. 

Magdalen originally wanted to take Estelle out for some fun, but after this drama, Estelle was feeling unwell. Plus, it was already late, so Magdalen took her back to the Royal Mansion. 

At the hotel, Manley was about to leave when someone knocked on the car window. 

Manley lowered the window and smiled at the person outside, “Oh, it’s Ms. Hattie. What’s up?” 

Hattie smiled, “Thanks for today’s help, Mr. Scott!” 

Manley smiled, “You’re welcome. If you want to thank someone, thank Estelle.” 

“Of course, I have to thank Estelle!” Hattie said with a mischievous smile, looking innocent. “We were really close when she was with Mr. Lamont. I’m definitely going to pay her back for helping me out 

this time.” 

Manley caught on that this woman was trying to sow discord between him and Estelle, thinking he didn’t know about Estelle and Jonathan. She was deliberately reminding him. 

Manley narrowed his eyes and motioned for Hattie to come closer. 

Hattie immediately took a step forward. 

Manley asked, “Doesn’t Mr. Daly have no requirements for the character of his lead actress?” 

Hattie was stunned. 

Manley’s face turned cold, and he sneered, “I think Mr. Daly’s choice of people is really poor. This movie is doomed even without me sabotaging it!” 

Manley then ordered the driver, “Let’s go. I’m feeling sick. Staying here another second might make me throw up!” 

The car quickly started and left, with Manley’s disgusted face gradually fading into the darkness. 

Hattie stood there with a livid face, gritting her teeth. 

For the next few days, Estelle didn’t see Jonathan or Manley at the Midnight Bar. 

She accidentally met Clement on the sixth floor, who told her that Manley had gone to H City to deal with some project issues that had come up there. 

Estelle saw in the news that the Scott family’s factory in Y City also had negative reports and was actively cooperating with investigations.
