Chapter 474
Amiee’s tone turned chilly as she remarked, “Don’t worry, I’m not interested in people who can’t distinguish between genders!”
Josiah’s eyes widened in surprise as he retorted, “What do you mean? You’re the one who can’t even tell! Just look at yourself! If my mom hadn’t introduced you, I would have mistaken you for a boy!”
Amiee responded calmly, “Perhaps you should visit a hospital then.”
Confused, Josiah questioned, “For what?”
“To get your eyes checked,” Amiee replied.
Josiah’s anger flushed his face, and he scoffed, “I’ll let you off the hook this time.”
He then turned to leave.
“Stop!” Amiee suddenly spoke.
Josiah turned back, “What now?”
“Sit down!” Amiee said seriously, patting the bench.
“What else is there to talk about?” Josiah stared coldly at Amiee.
Amiee looked at him, “If you dare to leave, I’ll tell Mrs. James later that I like you!”
Josiah’s face changed instantly, he gritted his teeth and slowly walked back.
He just casually sat down, his arms resting on the back of the bench, and said frivolously, “Alright, what’s the deal?”
Amiee calmly said, “Let’s date!”
“What?!”
Josiah looked shocked, staring at Amiee, “Girl, are you kidding me?”
“No, I’m serious. Let’s date!” Amiee repeated.
“Why, do you like me? Stop joking!” Josiah absolutely didn’t believe Amiee liked him.
Amiee didn’t change her expression, “My mom keeps urging me to get a boy friend, and I think Mrs. James does too. If we don’t agree, there’ll be a second, third, even fourth time like that.”
She looked at Josiah, “Aren’t you annoyed?”
Josiah was stunned.
Amiee continued, “I’ve got work to do, and I don’t have time to waste on this. So, we can pretend to date, and our parents will finally chill. Of course, it’s just pretend, but we both know that. We can just go along with some meetings arranged by our parents, but not interfere with each other any other time.”
Josiah thought about it and honestly, he was kinda tempted by Amiee’s proposal.
He knew his parents had been urging him to find a girlfriend because they were afraid he’d go abroad for years without coming home again. They wanted someone to keep him at home. If he didn’t agree to date Amiee, his mom would definitely arrange other girls.
He really hated these awkward and ridiculous meetings!
Josiah looked at Amiee again, seeing her cold androgynous outfit, and smirked, “You’re not a lesbian, are you? Trying to get me to help you out?”
