Blood was flowing down Maxwell’s shoulder, quickly staining his clothes red. He gritted his teeth and glared at Xavier. “Okay, you just wait! You refuse to pay the opening fee, I’ll make sure you’ll open without doing any business!” 

Zachary sneered, “Who are you trying to scare?” 

He waved the kitchen knife in his hand, causing Maxwell and his gang to involuntarily step back. They angrily threatened a few more times before finally running away. 

Zachary cursed, “Thought they were tough, turns out they’re just a bunch of scaredy-cats!” 

Damian laughed, “No matter how tough they are, they’ll still be scared to death when they meet our boss!” 

Xavier put the fallen chair back in place and smiled, “Alright, wipe up the blood on the floor and clean up. It’s time to eat!” 

Damian and the others picked up the table and put it back in its original place. “Boss, I’ve been asking around these days, and he has been here for years, bullying the merchants around, especially the newcomers. If they don’t give him money, they’ll be constantly harassed…” 

Zachary sat down in his chair, “Isn’t anyone going to intervene?” 

Damian replied, “I heard he has connections with the officials!”

Zachary snorted, “Beat them up one by one!” 

Xavier remained calm, “No need to worry about that, if that’s the case, we might as well not open the store! Haven’t we encountered enough trouble over the years? Let’s just open the store first!” 

Damian nodded, “Yeah, I’ll ask around more in the next few days, so we can be prepared and know what to look out for.”
