Chapter 704
When Jonathan entered the door, Craig immediately stood up, holding a baked potato tightly in his hand, looking very nervous, “Mr. Lamont, this
is your potato!” “No, thanks!” Jonathan’s voice was flat and indifferent. “You guys enjoy it
“I’ve already had mine?” Craig grinned, quickly put his potato down and scooted over to make room for Jonathan
Jonathan took a seat nearby, smiling at Estelle. “Are there so many snacks?”
Estelle responded with a smile, “Whatever the crew buys, I eat. I’m not picky.”
“You’re just too good!” Jonathan gave her nose a playful pinch.
Estelle ate the potatoes and said calmly. “Aren’t you busy? You don’t have to keep coming to see me. What happened with Nanette wont happen again. The crew’s been really nice to me now!”
Jonathan frowned, “Do you dislike me?”
“If people see you coming here all the time,” Estelle didn’t finish her sentence.
Jonathan interrupted, “And so what if they do? Have I embarrassed you?”
“Yes,” Estelle said, word by word. Seeing Jonathan’s stern look, she quickly added with a smile, “Because Mr. Lamont is so handsome, people might get jealous. It’s not good for the harmony of the crew”
Jonathan laughed, wiping off some soot from her mouth, “What does that have to do with me? Even if the crew falls apart, all I need to do is to take you home””
Estelle frowned, “Mr. Lamont, don’t forget you’re investing in this film!”
“I should definitely check in then, see how things are going!”
“Check on what?” Estelle asked.
As predicted, it started to rain in the evening, and it was almost dark.
The rain was like ice pellets hitting the body, the whole city was shrouded in cold rain, even the neon lights on the streets seemed desolate After work, Emily went to deliver takeout. She had only had a box of instant noodles for lunch. Due to the rain, the orders for delivery increased, and it wasn’t until 10 p.m. that she had time to eat dinner.
Her clothes were soaked through by the rain, she was so cold that she was shivering all over. She thought if she could deliver two more orders, she could go home early
She entered the residential area with the food box, trying to contact the customer who ordered, but couldn’t get through. When she finally got in touch, the customer told her that he was not at home and asked her to wait for a while.
With no one to open the door for her, she couldn’t enter the building and had to wait outside, getting soaked in the rain.
On that cold rainy night, the wind and rain lashed at her face like blades, running down her hat brim and into her collar. She waited outside for a full 15 minutes before the customer drove back. He looked at the food box in her hand with a displeased expression, “Why are you standing here? The food is all cold now, and it’s been rained on How am I supposed to eat it?”
Emily was shivering all over, her face pale. She hurriedly explained. “I kept the food box tucked under my coat, it didn’t get wet.”
