Chapter 842
When Norah woke up, it was almost dark. She strained to open her eyes, and it took her a moment to recall what had happened. The world was white around her, it seemed she was still in the hospital
Where was Xavier?
Just as she was about to call for a nurse, she spotted Xavier lying on a bed not for from her, hooked up to an IV just like her
Except, he was still unconscious
The setting sun streamed through the window casting a soft glow on the man. His angular features were even more striking as he slept. He seemed less aloof and more gentle than usual.
Norah couldn’t take her eyes off him. Her face felt hot, she was already running a fever and now she was blushing.
“Are you awake?”
A female cop came in, followed by a nurse.
The nurse took her temperature and said with a smile, “You still have a slight fever, but it’s much better.
“What happened to me? Norah’s voice was hoarse
“You fell into the water and got a fever. No big deal, the IV will set you right!” The female cop reassured her.
“What about Xavier?” Norah quickly asked.
“He’s fine too!” the nurse added, “His body is not seriously hurt, just lost a lot of blood. He needs to stay in the hospital for observation.”
“Phew Norah sighed in relief, looking at Xavier again, feeling more relaxed than ever before.
