Chapter 101 Almost There! 

Charlie suddenly had an idea and said, “Did you also come because of the lawsuit?” 

The man’s attitude was very resistant, and his words were full of resentment and anger. “So what if I am?” 

“Buddy, what a coincidence. I’m also here because of this. Which law firm did you find?” Charlie paused for a moment and then said, “I just came out of HM Law Office. I was annoyed by the failure of the lawsuit, so I wanted to come up and get some fresh air. I didn’t expect to meet you.” 

Charlie’s tone was very calm as if he was just stating a fact, and as if he really didn’t know her and just happened to pass by. His words almost made Evelyn believe him. 

When the man learned that Charlie had lost the lawsuit too, he was clearly taken aback. “Who was your lawyer?” he asked. 

It only took Charlie a second to blurt out, “Lawyer Warren from HM Law Office, Steve Warren. Do you know him?” 

“Steve Warren?” The man’s attention was diverted. 

Evelyn glanced at the man’s hand, which was holding her 

hand tightly. If she struggled desperately now, she might have 

a chance to escape, but… maybe she couldn’t. 

As if he could read her mind, Charlie shook his head slightly, signaling her not to act rashly. 

“I seem to remember… Eva Pierce managed my lawsuit. Have you heard of her?” Perhaps the same incident had made the man let down his guard, so he couldn’t help asking a few more 

questions. 

Eva Pierce? 

As soon as the name was mentioned, Evelyn and Charlie 

looked at each other at the same time. Both of them were very 

surprised. 

They didn’t expect it to be her. 

Charlie looked away calmly and continued to make up stories. “I know her. She helped me with the lawsuit before, but I was not satisfied with her. So, I changed to a new lawyer called 

Steve Warren.” 

The man’s tone became more serious. “Have you changed a lawyer? Is it due to Eva…” 

“She cannot handle the lawsuit well,” said Charlie. He 

observed the man’s expression carefully. He determined not to 

miss any subtle change as if he wanted to see through all the man’s emotions. “When she handled the lawsuit, it seemed that something went wrong. Honestly, I’m considering pursuing legal action against her now.” 

The man was shocked, asking, “Are you going to sue her? Are you crazy? She’s a lawyer from HM Law Office. How can you 

defeat her?” 

“Anyway, I’ve lost the lawsuit, so there’s nothing to worry about. Since I’m not having a good time, I don’t want her to have one either.” Charlie slowly took out a pack of cigarettes from his trouser pocket. “Hey buddy, if you have any information about Eva, feel free to share it with me.” 

Speaking of this, the man had been completely trapped in the lie that Charlie had told him, and his mind had obviously been 

guided. 

At this time, Charlie took out two cigarettes. He held one 

between his lips and handed another one forward. “Have a 

smoke?”
