"Calm down? How can I calm down? Should I tell you calmly that I'm fine? Am I okay? I don't want to cause any trouble for anyone, but I really can't do it..." She cried, and her tears flowed down the corners of her eyes and into the hair on her temples and soon disappeared.
Huston's heart ached. He lowered his head and kissed the corner of her eyes gently. "Everyone is trying to think of a way. Kevin does, and so do I. To cure you, everyone is working hard. They're not asking you to accept it now, but promise me that you won't give up, okay?"
Feeling the warmth of her thin lips on the side of her face, Evelyn cried even harder. She gritted her teeth and did not make a sound, but her shoulders kept shaking. Her desperate but fragile look made Huston feel as if his heart was about to explode.
"Don't cry. I can't remember anything when you cry."
Evelyn held back her sobs and said, "Don't you feel disgusted just looking at me?"
He was so outstanding, tall, and handsome, but he accompanied such an ugly woman in the ward every day. Ordinary men might not be able to stand it.
Hearing her question, Huston raised his hand so that she could see the sincerest and passionate emotion in his eyes. "I was the one who hurt you. I didn't protect you well, which is why you suffered all this. I feel sick when I see you in so much pain."
Evelyn didn't know how to describe her current mood, but she felt the strong love conveyed through his eyes and language. It was so strong and shocking that no one wouldn't be tempted. However, who could she match with her current ghost-like appearance? She was afraid that others would get goosebumps at first glance.
She cried and shook her head. "I'm not worthy of you. Give up..."
