If she had been passively accepting everything that happened after waking up, now she wanted to change what was unfolding before her eyes. She couldn't just enjoy the care he provided without responding, pretending not to see the man's loneliness in the quiet nights. She couldn't be so selfish.
Evelyn didn't know how to express her thoughts fully, but even so, Huston understood.
He knew everything about her, naturally understanding what she was thinking at this moment.
"Worried about burdening me?" Understanding her meaning, Huston's gaze softened a bit, and he gently lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him, "If you want to make it up to me, there are ways other than just remembering your memories."
He said it ambiguously, and Evelyn looked at his dark eyes in confusion, prompting her to ask, "What?"
In an instant, Huston's gaze turned sharp, like dazzling flashes in a pitch-black sky, piercing through the air and directly into her eyes, landing in her heart. He parted his thin lips and clearly spoke the words:
"Love me again."
"Clang!"
A clang resounded in her head as if an iron plate had struck heavily, leaving her feeling a bit dizzy.
Again.
