Because of the recent series of events, the person who must be the most exhausted, apart from those directly involved, was probably Kevin. How long had it been since he last returned home? She couldn't remember, but the only thing she was sure of was that his office now fully served as his home.
Kevin was someone who had extremely strict demands on himself academically, to the point of being harsh. In this era, having a doctor like him was something to be happy about for patients, but as someone close to him, Mabel felt that he was carrying too much burden.
For the sake of work and medical accomplishments, he had lost so much. She really hoped he could stop and experience the vibrant life around him.
Mabel had tried to advise him before, but at the moment, these matters urgently needed to be handled. No matter how much she said, they could only deal with the immediate challenges.
Mabel looked at the man who had fallen into a deep sleep. Usually, he would wake up at any time, but now he was so tired that he couldn't even hear her knock on the door.
Her gaze swept over his bent body, and suddenly, she noticed a prominent white hair on the side of his head, like a snowflake falling in the dark ink. She leaned closer to take a look, and indeed, it was white hair.
She knew Kevin was not young anymore, but he still looked quite youthful, and it was hard to tell his age most of the time. Now, seeing this strand of white hair, she was taken aback.
Her first reaction was to want to pluck out that white hair. But if she did, it would wake him up. If she didn't, would he be in a bad mood when he saw it?
For the first time, Mabel felt that she was so kind that she could consider pulling out his hair for more than ten minutes.
In the end, she decided to cut off the white hair with scissors.
In a doctor's office, one could easily find all sorts of scissors and tools. She took a small pair of scissors from the side tray and gently approached the root of the hair. Carefully, she cut the white hair from its base.
