He had never been such a warmhearted person. Evelyn looked at him strangely this time. But when she saw the glint in his eyes, she finally understood what was going on.
It seemed that there was something going on between this girl and Marcellus.
Beryl did not know what kind of situation she was in at all. She just remembered that half an hour ago, Marcellus had made a series of calls. He had left the driver alone and insisted on her coming up and taking him down. He must have thought of another way to deal with her.
Ever since she came to work in the Red Cauldron, she had been working late at night without a salary. Every time Marcellus's friends came, she had to go to the private room to serve them, which was very miserable.
However, no matter how reluctant she was, she had to do it. She didn't want to provoke that man, or she would suffer.
Beryl followed behind the two of them obediently. She did not speak or lag behind. At a glance, one could tell that she was an obedient child.
Huston led her directly into the banquet hall. From a distance, he could see that Marcellus was exchanging toast with someone and drinking to his heart's content.
Huston calmly glanced at the girl beside him and called out to that person, "Marcellus."
When the latter heard someone calling him, he hurriedly raised his head and drank up the wine in his glass. He looked in the direction of the voice and muttered, "Where have you been, Huston? We were just looking for you, you..."
Halfway through his sentence, his lips, which were shining under the influence of alcohol, suddenly stopped. He narrowed his peach blossom eyes and looked at the girl standing quietly on the side.
A few seconds later, he frowned in disgust. "Why is she with you and Evelyn?"
"We just happened to run into her, so I brought her here." A thoughtful smile appeared on Huston's face. "Why didn't you tell her where you are? She got lost."
The wanton smile on Marcellus's face faded a little. He walked over and pulled her to his side. "You're really stupid. You can't even find the place."
Beryl was furious, but she did not dare to say anything. She could only glare at her cuffs resentfully. She did not want to lower herself to his level!
