"Do you have a cigarette?"
Kevin pulled open the drawer of the office and threw the whole box of eyes at him.
The man couldn't wait to open it. There was an obvious sense of anxiety in his movements. As Evelyn sat next to him, she could clearly see his fingers trembling.
When he took the cigarette to his mouth, the cigarette butt and cigarette butt were not at the same level.
Evelyn knew that he was enduring, and it was hard for him to do so.
Over the years, he had been living alone and rarely had a chance to be with his family. His complicated family environment also led to his solitary personality.
However, this did not mean that he did not care about relationships. On the contrary, he valued relationships the most. It was just that he did not know how to say or express it.
So, when everything was hidden in his heart, he would be particularly sad and powerless in the face of such a situation.
Huston quietly finished a cigarette. In reality, he didn't think about anything. To be exact, he didn't know what to think. His entire being was in a state of emptiness.
As long as he thought of Grandpa, he couldn't go on.
When the last bit of fireworks had been snuffed out in the ashtray, he finally said, "Kevin, let's get ready."
Kevin did not expect to hear such words from Huston after waiting for a long time. He thought that Huston would refuse to believe in reality like before and deceive himself by asking him to come up with more practical plans. However, Kevin did not expect Huston to say that he was prepared.
Perhaps it was because this was beyond his expectations, but when Kevin heard this, he was stunned. After a long while, he nodded his head in a daze and said, "Okay, I will do my best."
The man was still expressionless. He was as calm as a pool of stagnant water. "My grandpa should know about himself."
"Yes."
Huston closed his eyes and did not speak.
If he walked out of this door today, he would not fantasize that the Sir. Lloyd could get better. Instead, he would think about dealing with his funeral and preparing to send him away for the last time.
This door was like a door of life and death in front of him. Huston had to use all his strength to cross it.
He held his breath, closed his eyes, and everything returned to darkness.
After a long silence, Huston stood in front of the door for nearly five minutes before he finally walked out. The moment when he went out, the tears in his eyes rolled down and fell to the ground without warning.
From beginning to end, Evelyn followed him all the way to the end of the corridor. The man was facing the window with his arms on the edge of the window. His tall and straight body slowly drooped as if he had suddenly lost his pillar and almost fell to the ground.
