Her father was still in the hospital, and time was so tight that Marcellus couldn't really do anything. Although Marcellus knew it, it was still a bit difficult when it came to himself.
He needed to control himself.
He slightly pushed himself back, pulling his hand from her shoulder and putting it in his pocket, adjusting his posture slightly to cover up the uncomfortable situation.
"Let's eat, and after that, I'll drive you there." He spoke with a hoarse voice.
Beryl nodded and didn't dare to look at him. She focused intently on eating the sandwich in front of her.
Half an hour later, they both got ready to leave. The driver had already parked the car in the courtyard. Marcellus walked ahead with his head held high, not sitting in the car first as usual. Instead, he stood on her side, opened the car door, and slightly bowed, "Please get in."
Beryl saw him personally open the car door for her. Although it wasn't the first time, it was rare. Their current relationship made her feel embarrassed, so she quickened her pace and stepped in. She wanted to say thank you but suddenly remembered his previous words, so she hesitated.
He didn't seem to like her thanking him very much.
Then... she wouldn't say it.
Seeing her getting in, Marcellus followed suit and got in the car. The driver protected his head very respectfully and sat back in the driver's seat after seeing him seated comfortably.
"Shall we go to the company, Mr. Perkins?"
"No, let's go to the hospital first."
"Got it."
Not long after, the car started, and Beryl looked at the villa left behind. Having outsiders around always made her feel a bit restrained.
