She paused and saw the butler with white hair appear in front of her. "You are Miss. Juliet, aren't you?"
She nodded. "Yes, it's me."
"Sir. Perkins is waiting for you in the study on the second floor. Please come in." The butler personally led her to the study on the second level. He raised his hand and pushed the door open. Sir. Perkins was standing behind his desk reading a book.
After she entered, the butler closed the door. There were only two of them in the large room. It was very quiet, and everything seemed to have stopped.
Beryl swallowed her saliva. Was she nervous? Of course, she was nervous. In the face of such a powerful person, everyone was nervous, but she would not back down.
"You knew I would come, didn't you?" She took a step forward and asked bluntly.
Sir. Perkins didn't look up and continued to read, as if he hadn't heard anything.
Beryl couldn't help but raise her tone and cut straight to the chase. "Did you send someone to my house?"
She was almost certain that it was Sir. Perkins who had done it. No one else dared to lay a finger on her. After all, Marcellus was not someone to be trifled with.
However, no matter what she said, the old man not far away seemed to be unable to hear her. Other than focusing on reading, he was not prepared to respond at all.
Beryl could not help but feel a little angry. Although he was indeed an elder, it was still a little unacceptable for him to deliberately ignore others.
