Chapter 157 The Gift She Gave Him Is More Beautiful Than Any High–end Custom–made One
In the end, Huston saw Evelyn curled up on the sofa in the living
room.
He took off his shoes and walked over quietly. The moonlight outside the window fell on her face. Her posture was awkward, and she slept very uncomfortably. She was still holding her mobile phone in her hand, which was unlocked, and the screen
was on.
He slowly pulled his phone out of her palm. Just as he was about to put it aside, his gaze swept across the screen. It was his name.
He paused and looked at it carefully. It was a text message that hadn’t been sent out, “When will you come back? I have something to show you.”
The input box had been opened, and she almost clicked to send it. Was she afraid that he would notice her surprise, or was she afraid that she would expose herself? So, in the end, she hesitated and didn’t send it to him even when she fell asleep.
The man’s eyes softened when he thought of this. He squatted down and reached out to wake her up, but when he touched her, he changed his mind and lowered his head to kiss her.
that it was a little difficult for her to breathe in the hazy sleep. She slowly opened her eyes and saw an extremely familiar face.
Shocked, she pushed him away. “You’re back?”
The man’s gaze was as deep as obsidian. “Yeah.”
Evelyn raised her hand and rubbed her eyes as if she hadn’t woken up yet. This action allowed her to see the balloons in the room clearly.
Oh no!
How could she have forgotten about it?
Looking at her increasingly unnatural movements, Huston asked, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Evelyn blinked in embarrassment. “I just wanted to give you a surprise.”
She didn’t expect that her sleepiness would ruin her plan.
“Other people’s surprises are all well–prepared. What about you?” He was referring to the fact that he didn’t go home for dinner tonight.
At the mention of this, Evelyn felt embarrassed. “How would I know that you wouldn’t come back?”
Otherwise, Evelyn would have told him in advance and found an
excuse to send him back. The most important thing was that now that he was back, Evelyn was even more embarrassed.
Looking at her lively expression, most of the depression in grandfather’s house dissipated tonight. He raised his hand and touched the top of the woman’s head. His eyes were gentle and charming. “It’s not too late now.”
So, Evelyn watched as Huston walked into the dining room, sat down, cut the steak that had completely cooled down, and put it into his mouth.
She walked over and said, “Don’t eat it. It’s too cold.”
“I’m hungry.” The man, who had eaten a whole bowl of rice this night, didn’t even blush when he panicked.
Without hesitation, she said, “Then I’ll heat it up for you.”
As she spoke, Evelyn reached out to take it but was stopped by Huston. “There’s no need. This is fine.”
“Are you sure?”
