Chapter 199 Check His Phone
The phone screen lit up. She gritted her teeth and clicked on the call history to find the latest call history. She saw two calls,
and they were from the “Home.” It was as just when Huston
was about to drive home.
Evelyn paused and clicked on it. It was a string of landline
numbers. Obviously, it was a call from home.
Home?
Could it be a call from his family?
The two of them had been together for so long, but Evelyn
had never heard Huston mention his family on his own.
initiative. The only thing she knew about him was what Matt
had told her in the interview.
Other than that, there was nothing else.
Everyone had a bad character, especially those who cared
about themselves. There would always be a moment when
they would have a great desire for personal gains. Evelyn was
so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn’t even notice when
the door behind her was opened. When the phone in her hand
was taken away, she froze on the spot and couldn’t move.
Evelyn didn’t even have time to lock the screen.
Looking at the phone record, Huston frowned and asked, “What do you want to see?” There was no emotion in his voice.
Evelyn bit her lower lip and didn’t say anything. She was nervous and embarrassed at first, but now she was angry and aggrieved. In a few seconds, her emotions rose and fell several times, but she couldn’t say a word in the end.
Huston locked his phone again and threw it on the bed. “I’m asking you a question.”
There was a questioning tone in his calm voice. She could hear it.
Taking a deep breath, Evelyn turned around and said, “I just want to know who called you away since you won’t tell me. But this matter seems to be serious, and I’m a little worried!”
“That’s why you flipped through my phone?” Huston interrupted her and leaned back. He placed his hands on the
bed behind him and crossed his slender legs.
Evelyn’s eyelids twitched, and her throat felt like it was
blocked by cotton.
“Do you know what you are doing?” Huston continued to ask,
even when he saw that her eyes were gradually turning red.
Evelyn knew that it was her fault, but why didn’t he tell her?
If Huston was willing to tell her, she would not do that.
“I was just worried, that’s all. I didn’t mean anything else.”
“What are you worried about?” Huston rubbed his teeth.
Actually, he was also afraid. Huston was afraid that she would know his grandparents’ attitude towards her, so he retracted the first step he had just taken.
He was greedy. He had not dealt with these things well, so Evelyn wanted to keep him by her side.
Evelyn clenched her fists and suddenly loosened them.
“Huston, you told me not to lie to you.”
Evelyn raised her head and looked straight into his eyes. “What about you?”
