Chapter 246 Don’t Cry, It’s My Fault
Harbor City was different from Jewel City. If Evelyn didn’t want them to find her, it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack She didn’t want anything to happen to her.
He simply checked the surveillance video at the entrance of the hotel, but he didn’t find any trace of Evelyn’s leaving.
Next, all the security guards in the monitoring room checked the floors one by one. Twenty minutes later, they finally saw her figure in the surveillance video of an elevator.
After confirming everything along the way, Evelyn finally disappeared from the top floor.
She walked out of the elevator and ran straight from the corridor to the stairs at the corner, which led to the hotel’s rooftop.
Huston felt as though his heart had been hammered by a hammer. He immediately strode out of the elevator and pressed the button on the top floor. At this critical moment, he was really afraid that something would happen to her.
If anything were to happen to Evelyn, he would be the one to make it happen.
Huston had never been so nervous before. His palms were instantly covered in cold sweat and his breathing became hurried. His blood pressure soared and his head felt a little dizzy.
In less than ten seconds, he seemed to have been pushed out of cold water.
The elevator door opened again. Outside the door was a quiet corridor, but Huston felt as if it was a world of ice and snow.
He went out and walked in the direction of Evelyn according to the surveillance camera. Without hesitation, he turned the doorknob
leading to the roof. With a click, the grayish–white cement roof appeared in front of him. There was an air conditioner outside and all kinds of steel bars, but there was no soft figure.
Huston felt as though he had been nailed to the ground. His hands, which were hanging by his side, were clenched tightly, but he felt as if he had lost all strength..
The feet of his neat suit pants were blown by the wind, and the hair on his forehead was gradually messy. He came to his senses and rushed to the edge of the railing on the rooftop. Looking from such a height, the crowd was as big as ants, but fortunately, there was no bloody scene that made him accept.
“Woo woo…”
Suddenly, a woman’s suppressed sobs came from behind him.
Huston’s body stiffened and he looked in the direction of the sound. In a corner behind the huge bellows, he quickly walked over and saw the woman half curled up on the dust–covered ground. Her arms were wrapped around her knees and her entire face was buried in
her arms.
Her body was trembling violently, especially after he walked over.
Huston felt uncomfortable in her heart. Thinking of what he had just done to her, he felt even more guilty. He quietly looked at her for a long time, bent his long legs slightly, squatted down, and raised his hand to touch her shoulder. He wanted to comfort her, but unexpectedly, Evelyn was extremely resistant. “Don’t touch me!”
Her eyes were very red, and the tip of her nose was also very red, but none of this was as dazzling as the marks on her neck
It was left behind by him.
