Chapter 256 Deliberately Hiding It 

After getting in the car, a warm rush of air instantly swept over their bodies, relieving some of the freezing sensations. Huston glanced at Evelyn as she removed her coat, revealing her good figure in a tight-fitting knit sweater, which made hist gaze turn fervent. 

He withdrew his gaze imperceptibly and ordered the driver, “Go back to the company first and then to the Royal Villa.” 

Evelyn stopped removing her clothes and asked, “Are you returning to the company?” 

“Yes, I haven’t been there for a few days. I haven’t dealt with many things yet,” Huston replied lightly, and he didn’t look at her. Instead, he stared at the phone as if dealing with 

work-related matters. 

However, only Huston knew that there was nothing on the phone screen. He just couldn’t see her big clear eyes. 

Evelyn didn’t doubt him, but she felt sorry for him. “You haven’t recovered yet, and you now have to continue working. Can 

you stand it?” 

“It’s okay. I won’t be busy for too long. I’ll be back soon.” As 

soon as Huston finished speaking, a phone call suddenly 

came in. He was in silent mode and didn’t have time to turn it 

back on. When he saw the caller ID on the screen, he frowned 

slightly and hung up without saying anything. 

Then, he switched his phone back to flight mode and put it back in his pocket. 

Evelyn didn’t notice anything wrong with him. She took a box. 

of effervescent tablets from her bag and handed it to him. 

“Don’t drink coffee. If you want to drink something, drink this.” 

Huston took it from her. The plastic packaging seemed 

still stained with the warmth of her palm. Such tenderness 

tortured his heart. 

Huston closed his eyes, afraid that a lingering gaze would reveal the emotions in his heart. Perhaps Kevin was right, concealing that thing was truly difficult, and he was already mentally tormented. 

The car stopped outside the building where HM Law 

Office was located. Before getting out of the car, Huston 

kissed Evelyn’s lips. His black coat accentuated his sturdy figure. Evelyn watched him walk into the revolving door, disappearing from her sight.

She returned to her senses and felt an indescribable uneasiness in her heart. When she thought of Huston’s tired and evasive look, she shook her head to prevent herself from thinking too much. She kept telling herself not to think too much and not to misunderstand.

said, “Let’s go.” 

After returning to the office, Huston immediately called back the missed call. Not long after the phone rang, someone picked it up. A woman’s delicate voice came from the other end of the line. “Huston, did I disturb your work?”
