Chapter 274 I Can Deal with It Myself
Evelyn understood what he meant, but she was also a
little surprised. Had Huston been cracking down on InBev Technology all this time and didn’t stop even after the divorce
lawsuit?
She thought about it for a moment and came to a realization. Coincidentally, she received a call from Huston at the same
time.
Evelyn took the phone and glanced at the caller ID. She
walked to the side and answered, “Hello?”
“Why didn’t you come to the company?” Huston’s clear voice came from the phone. It was not very steady. Maybe he had just arrived and found that she was not there.
With her back to the living room, Evelyn lowered her voice. “Eddy and Nora have come to my house. I’ve taken half a day
off. I’ll be back in the afternoon.”
“They came to you?” Huston’s voice suddenly tensed up. “I’m going over now…”
“There’s no need.” Evelyn interrupted him softly. Knowing that he cared about her, she felt warm in her heart. “I can handle it
myself.”
Moreover, in this case, his arrival would only make things worse. This man had always been indifferent to outsiders. If he was not satisfied, he would destroy InBev Technology.
Huston was silent for a long time. Evelyn was afraid that he would be worried, so she comforted him. “I’m not a child anymore. Besides, I’ve divorced Jerry. Nothing will happen to
me.”
Even if they wanted to do something, it was too late, so she was not worried about what the Graves family would do.
She had been in a hurry because she feared Ben and Lucy would get angry and agitated, causing a big scene. Now that she had arrived, there was nothing to be afraid of.
When Huston heard that there was nothing wrong with her tone, he agreed. “All right, you deal with it yourself. If they
make things difficult for you, tell me.””
“Tell you?” Evelyn teased him. “Then you’ll skin them alive.””
“It’s not that simple.” Huston coldly snorted. “If they dare to
touch even a strand of your hair, I’ll ensure they won’t be able to leave the Hub Apartment.”
Hearing his cold tone, Evelyn couldn’t help trembling. She turned to look at the living room and met Eddy’s eyes. She
narrowed her eyes and turned back. “I’ll talk to them first. I’ll
talk to you later.”
“Okay, be careful.”
“Don’t worry.”
Not long after, Evelyn hung up and walked back to the living room. Before she could sit down, she heard Lucy’s sharp voice. “Did you talk to Mr. Lloyd?”
If it were in the past, Evelyn would definitely not have said it,
but now…
