Chapter 303 Shouldn’t We Catch Up?
“Didn’t I always say I wanted to study abroad? Now I have an opportunity. My father’s company has a place for advanced studies, so I volunteered.” After saying that, she blinked her eyes countless times, as if only in this way could she relieve the panic
in her heart.
Hearing this, Evelyn frowned. “Didn’t you say you didn’t want to work in your family’s company? Why did you suddenly change your mind?”
“Isn’t this a good opportunity? If they don’t give it to me, someone else will benefit. It’s better if I go myself,” Grace said, pouring another glass of water. The nearby waiter saw it and reached out to take it, but she waved her hand to stop him.
Everything seemed normal, but her slightly trembling hands revealed the nervousness in her heart.

Evelyn grabbed the glass of water in her hand and asked in a serious voice, “Is it because of Matt that you want to leave the
country?”
Matt.
Grace bit her lips. Ever since that night, this name seemed imprinted in her mind, impossible to forget no matter how hard
She didn’t say anything and sat silently on the chair. It was the first time she hung her head so low in her proud life. Evelyn looked at her, feeling a pang of bitterness in her heart.
“Grace, you…”
“Please don’t!” Grace interrupted her eagerly. She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. “Don’t try to persuade me. I’m fine.”
Evelyn felt distressed and blamed herself because Grace was uncomfortable but still holding it in. If she hadn’t been drunk and been sober that night, maybe things wouldn’t have turned out like this.
Matt was right. In the adult world, it’s all about mutual consent. However, Grace was far from being as open-minded and indifferent as she appeared. She had always been a modest and somewhat conservative girl, focused on keeping herself pure.
Unfortunately, there was no way to pursue the matter now.
They had a stifled meal, and Grace pretended to be relaxed, which made Evelyn unable to bear watching. As they paid the bill and left, Evelyn held her hand. “Grace, no matter what happens, if you ever need me, I will always be by your side, accompanying you.”
Grace’s eyes turned red again. She smiled and said, “I know. It’s so cold. Go in quickly. I’m leaving.”
After that, she didn’t dare to stay for a moment. She
immediately turned around, leaving only a carefree back figure behind, while tears instantly filled her face.
Seeing her get in the car and leave, Evelyn stood at the entrance and sighed deeply. She took out her phone and looked at
the time. It was the appointed time with Huston, but he was nowhere to be seen.
Just as she was about to make a phone call to urge him, Huston had already called.
Assuming he had arrived, Evelyn walked outside while answering the call, “Hello, where are you?”
“I’m sorry, Evelyn. I have something urgent to attend to and can’t leave right now. Please wait a little longer. I’ll have the driver pick you up,” Huston’s slightly anxious voice came through the receiver.
Evelyn was stunned, and her steps came to a halt. She looked around at the desolate streets and the snow on the branches that had yet to melt. The cold made her shiver. After a few seconds of contemplation, she forced a bitter smile, swallowing all her blame, pretending to be understanding. “It’s okay. If you have urgent matters to attend to, go ahead. Grace is still here, and I’ll ask her to accompany me back. There’s no need to send the driver over,” she said.
“Are you okay with that?”
