Chapter 466 Love Is Self-control
Evelyn reached out to open the car door, stood up angrily, and turned to leave. Suddenly, her palm was pulled by a hard rectangular shape. She stopped, turned around, and handed the car key to him. Her tone was bad. “It’s yours.”
The man’s body was a little loose in the night. Because he was
drinking, when he saw her coming back, his eyes fell slightly
on her small white hand. He was not in a hurry to take the key but directly grabbed her slender wrist and pulled her into his arms. Hearing her exclamation, he reached out to hold her waist, and his hot lips fell on her ear. “What are you angry about? I can’t control my impulse to see you. What gentleman do you want me to do?”
“…” A pink mushroom cloud exploded in her head, and her face
was as red as a cooked shrimp. Evelyn pushed him away in a
hurry and said coquettishly, “Let go of me!”
Huston didn’t make things difficult for her. He loosened his grip and looked at her with a burning gaze. “Let’s go inside first. I’ll get a driver to pick you up later.”
“No need, I can do it myself.”
“We’re in the middle of the suburbs. What do you want to do?
Take a taxi or walk?”
The man’s voice was slow as if he was waiting to laugh at her.
Evelyn lost her mind. Sure enough, her kindness was not rewarded. She wanted to burn the bridge after crossing it, but when she looked up, she met a pair of gentle eyes.
Evelyn was stunned and stood there in a daze, forgetting to react. She had long known that this man was always lying, but she didn’t expect him to be like this.
Even when looking at her talking about irrelevant things, Huston could still see such a doting look in her eyes.
Evelyn suddenly remembered that there was always a dark
car parked downstairs in the middle of the night, at home, or
in the hospital. It stopped for a long time.
Just like his eyes at this time, if you avoided it, you would not
be able to find his hidden love at all.
How would he feel?
Evelyn’s heart was like a zither string being plucked by a zither
player. It trembled slightly and slowly echoed with a loud
noise.
“Huston.” She called out his name with unprecedented
seriousness. A smile appeared on her lips, firm and inexplicably fragile. “Do you like me very much?”
Her question was sudden and baseless, but Huston was connected to her. The affection in her eyes gradually deepened. “I don’t.”
His voice was so cold that it could melt in the night wind.
Evelyn’s face froze. Just as she was about to turn her face
away, he grabbed her cheek. His calloused hand covered the place between her neck and cheek, and he said gently, “I like you and restrain myself. According to this sentence, I have fallen in love with you, and I can’t extricate myself from it.”
His tone was indifferent and full of self-mockery. He was
not mocking his feelings but laughing at himself. He had unknowingly fallen into it.
“I used to have a failed relationship. Accepting you was equivalent to letting me open up my wounds again, but the result was not good. Now I want to sever this relationship, but I find that I can’t do it at all.” Evelyn looked straight into his eyes and was finally willing to reveal her thoughts to him. “I don’t know what to do. It’s a lie to say that I forgot you
because I can’t forget you at all. But it’s very difficult for me to
