Chapter 493 Advocacy of
Innocence
Evelyn was speechless and didn’t know what to say. She just felt that at this moment, she was nestled in his arms, and even the interrogation room didn’t seem so cold and terrible.
Happy times were always short. Even if he wanted to spend more time with her, Huston still had to leave.
When he came out of the police station, it was almost evening. Outside the police station, the driver had been waiting by the car for a long time. When he saw Huston coming over, he opened the door respectfully.
Huston walked to the front of the car but didn’t get in. Instead, he stopped and looked at the setting sun not far away. The red light dyed half of the sky bright, from red to yellow. It was a rare sight to behold, but unfortunately, Evelyn couldn’t see it.
The smile on Huston’s face in the interrogation room had disappeared, leaving behind only coldness. When he thought
of how reluctant she was to part with him but didn’t dare to
say anything, he wished he could give himself two punches.
Huston didn’t protect his woman well and let her suffer so
‘t have suffered. His heart was more
than a hundred times more painful than hers.
Saying that he would help her deal with it and take her home
was just to comfort himself. If possible, he would rather that none of this had happened, and she would not have to go through all this.
The driver looked at his lonely expression. Although he was
a subordinate, he still had some affection in his heart. He couldn’t bear to see him standing there alone, so he reminded him softly, “Mr. Lloyd, please get in the car first.”
Hearing this, Huston retracted his gaze and stepped into the car. The scenery outside the window flashed past, but he couldn’t see anything. He only cared about that little woman.
“President Lloyd, are you going back to the company?”
Huston raised his head and leaned against the back of the chair behind him. His voice was filled with exhaustion. “Yes.”
Forty minutes later, the car drove into the underground parking lot of the HM Law Office. The driver parked the car steadily, and Huston got out of the car and walked to the elevator.
When he arrived at the office, Matt had been waiting for him for a long time. When he saw him coming in, he sat up straight
slightly and said, “You’re here.”
“Yes.” Huston took off his coat and threw it on the sofa. “Have you read the information I asked you to read?”
“Yes.” Matt looked at him hesitantly and asked tentatively, “Are you really going to take over Evelyn’s case?”
“Okay.” The man didn’t even raise his head. He picked up the document on the table and read it as if it wasn’t something worth considering at all.
“Huston, you and I have been brothers for so many years. If I have something to say, just say it. Don’t blame me for being nosy.” Matt sighed helplessly. “Judging from the current situation, the odds of winning the lawsuit are very small. We can only try to reduce the sentence or light sentence if we want to be acquitted. It’s almost impossible.”
“She didn’t do it.”
“How did you know it wasn’t her?”
“I have eyes. I can tell.”
Seeing that he couldn’t listen to her, Matt frowned slightly and
said, “Look at the surveillance video and the evidence shown by the police…”
