Finding Love in the Boss’s Embrace After Divorce novel Chapter 505

Chapter 505 What Are You Thinking About When We’re Kissing?

When Huston received the call from the police station, it was about eight o’clock the next morning. He didn’t sleep until three o’clock in the morning last night. He was exhausted, but he immediately woke up when he saw the caller ID.

“Mr. Lloyd, Ms. Shelton has something to discuss with you. Please come over.”

Hearing this, Huston frowned. Usually, when something happened, Evelyn would directly call him instead of sending messages through others. This was somewhat unusual today.

His heart sank. “How is she?”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Lloyd. Ms. Shelton is fine.”

Hearing such an answer, Huston was not completely at ease. Instead, he had a bad feeling. He knew Evelyn too well. The two of them had a tacit understanding of each other. There must be a reason for her to do this.

What could make her unwilling to talk to him?

With an anxious mood, Huston drove to the police station. He parked the car in the courtyard and hastily walked inside.

Without wasting any time, he went straight to the room where Evelyn was.

As soon as the door was pushed open, he saw Evelyn’s pale face, which made him feel lifeless.

Huston had never seen such Evelyn before. Even when she was brought to the police station previously, she had never had such a reaction. If he had to describe it, it would be utter despair.

He frowned, thinking that she might not be feeling well. He walked over nervously and asked, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”

As he spoke, he raised his hand to touch her forehead. He wanted to see if she had a fever, but she suddenly shrank back before he could touch her forehead.

Huston’s raised hand suddenly stopped, unsure whether to lower it or continue reaching out to her, leaving his hand suspended mid-air.

With empty eyes, Evelyn took the printed papers from the drawer to the table and said without looking at him, “Sit down. I have something to talk to you.”

Seeing her pale face, Huston was in no mood to think about anything else. He said with great concern, “Tell me what’s wrong with you first. Then we can talk about something else.”

Smelling the faint smell of his body, a flicker of emotion finally appeared in the depths of Evelyn’s eyes. She used to adore and

rely on his fragrance, bul now she only felt indifference.

She raised her head slightly, and their eyes met. No one knew what she was thinking.

Just as Huston was about to ask, Evelyn suddenly wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him over. She raised her head and kissed him.

She closed her eyes, warm tears welling up at the corners. Her cold lips leaned close to his, interweaving with a hint of effort.

Sensing her awkward posture, Huston leaned forward and lifted her chin with one hand, wanting to deepen the kiss. However, at this moment…

Gritting her teeth, Evelyn pushed the man in front of her with force, her eyes damp with mockery. “Huston, sometimes I wonder, what are you thinking about when we’re kissing?”
