Chapter 579 I Hope Uncle and Mother Can Be Together
Evelyn explained with a smile, "I've never tried it before. I'll make it for you today."
"Great!" Lucas was happy to hear that and immediately walked around the living room.
It was not difficult to cook BBQ, mainly because it was troublesome to deal with the ingredients. After all, it was Christmas, and Evelyn had prepared a roast chicken symbolically.
Evelyn cleaned up all the ingredients, and everything was ready except for Bert.
At 7:30 p.m., the man walked into the duplex apartment.
As soon as Bert entered the door, he smelled a fragrance. He looked up at the dining room and was used to being alone at home. He was still a little stunned.
Evelyn heard the noise and waved at him. "Bert, change your clothes and come over for dinner."
It was not the first time they had had a meal together in so many years, but it was the first time for them to have such a ceremony.
Bert felt as if a small thermometer had warmed his heart. He put down his briefcase, walked to the cloakroom, changed into his home clothes as fast as possible, and entered the dining room.
All kinds of fresh vegetables, beef, and mutton were on the table. In the middle was a bottle of high-quality dried red wine, one of his treasured liquors.
Noticing his gaze, Evelyn shrugged her shoulders in embarrassment. "I forgot to buy wine, so I opened your bottle."
Of course, Bert didn't mind. He pulled out a chair and sat down. He asked, "Why did you think of BBQ?"
"I was planning to cook and found no seasoning, so that's all I could do." Evelyn sat down with Lucas and handed him a knife and fork. She poured the red wine into the glass, raised her hand, and invited him to clink glasses. "Happy Christmas."
