Forty minutes later, Evelyn's car stopped at the address in the text message.
In front of her was a foreign-style house. She had checked on the Internet and found that there was a cafe with an excellent environment a kilometer away. If he insisted on her coming to his house, he must have bad intentions.
Without the access card, Evelyn unfastened her seat belt and quickly walked to the door to press the doorbell. The person on the other end of the line did not say anything and opened the door directly.
The car drove in smoothly. She got out of the car with the prepared documents and stood at the door of the villa. After taking several deep breaths, she raised her hand and knocked on the door.
More than ten seconds later, the heavy solid wood security door opened, and the man's body came into view bit by bit.
He was wearing a casual dark gray sweater, a pair of straight black trousers, and a pair of white slippers at home. He didn't look like he was going to talk business.
Evelyn's first reaction was to be on guard. A pair of big eyes passed through him and looked into the living room. Just as she was about to look around, the person in front of her suddenly took a big step forward and blocked her sight.
Evelyn took a big step back. "What are you doing!"
"What did I do?" Huston didn't want to get angry, but when he saw the wariness and fear on her face, he couldn't help losing his temper. "Miss Shelton, is this how you talk?"
Knowing that he was deliberately making things difficult for her, Evelyn did not reply. She cleared her throat and said, "Let's go in and talk."
Huston raised her eyebrows and turned her body to make way for her. Evelyn quickly walked past him, her movements as stiff as a wooden stick.
The living room of the villa was very large. She sat on the sofa and put the documents on the table. "President Lloyd, take a look."
Huston sat opposite her with her long legs crossed casually. He glanced at the document and took it obediently. After flipping through it a few times, he threw it back and said, "Since you're here today, I won't beat around the bush with you. I can satisfy Davy's compensation and apologies, but Miss Shelton needs to answer a few questions."
"Questions?" Evelyn stared at him. "What questions?"
The man's eyes were also burning with passion. "Personal issues."
Evelyn's heart skipped a beat. She didn't expect him to say something like that so bluntly. Suppressing her disordered heartbeat, she said calmly like a qualified employee, "President Lloyd, this is working hours. I only talk about work."
"Really?" The man raised his hand and looked at his watch, then quickly put it down. "Well, not now."
