Before she could say anything, the little boy standing next to her widened his eyes as if he had seen a treasure. He pounced on Bert and hugged the man's leg. "Uncle! Why are you here? Oh, my god! It's incredible! I miss you so much!"
Lucas was so excited that he didn't know what to do. They hadn't been apart for a long time, but he missed Bert very much. Maybe it was because he hadn't been happy these days. The child missed the people and things in Eoland.
Bert felt his hard heart melt in his little arms. He raised his hand and picked him up. It was rare for him to soften his tone to coax him. "Uncle also missed you. Did you behave well?"
"Yes! I'm very obedient! If you don't believe me, you can ask Mom." Lucas raised his head proudly. He had forgotten everything and was only focused on taking credit.
Looking at the adult and child in front of her, she felt as if she had returned to her home in Eoland. She quickly said, "How old is he? Why are you still hugging him? Put him down quickly."
Unexpectedly, Lucas wrapped his arms around the man's neck and refused to let go. "I want him to hug me! Just want it!"
It was rare for him to be wilful due to this kind of thing, Bert was naturally happy to spoil him. He hugged him and raised him high before putting him down. "Uncle will hold you when we get back later. Now pack up with Mom. We're leaving."
The little boy blinked his big eyes, full of questions. "Where are we going?"
"Go live with me."
"Okay!" After saying that, Lucas turned around and ran into the bedroom to sort out his toys.
Grace stood aside and looked at the three of them. She had to admit that Bert looked very cold, but he had a different side to Evelyn and the child.
It couldn't be said to be very soft, but she could feel the kindness and sincerity.
She looked at her with some embarrassment. "Grace, I'm sorry..."
