Grace slowly woke up in the afternoon, feeling a bit dizzy. When she turned her head slightly, she saw Grace sitting by her side.
"Grace." Her voice was so soft that it was almost inaudible.
Grace noticed her movement and realized she had woken up. "You're awake? How do you feel? Any discomfort?"
Evelyn thought for a moment. She felt uncomfortable all over, but she decided to bear with it, "I'm fine. I just want some water."
"The water is cold. Huston just went to get it. Please wait for a moment."
Huston?
Upon hearing that name, Evelyn furrowed her brows. Before she could say anything, she saw him walking over from the doorway, holding a pink thermos in his hand. It was quite a contrasting image.
Seeing her awake, Huston paused for a moment before quickly walking to the bedside. He met her clear, almond-shaped eyes and leaned down to kiss her lips, whispering, "You scared me to death."
Grace was caught off guard by this unexpected display of affection. She didn't even have time to turn her head before being "forced" to witness such a sudden kiss.
Evelyn couldn't even react in time as she had just awakened. Her gaze was somewhat dazed, and her response was slow. "Why are you here?"
"I called you this morning, but no one answered. I asked Grace and found out you were in the hospital," He seemed to have a lot to say, with a hint of hesitation and inner conflict in his eyes. Finally, he asked, "Why didn't you say anything about feeling so unwell last night?"
Evelyn lowered her eyelids, thinking about everything that happened last night, not wanting to face Huston.
Seeing her silence and non-responsive, Grace was worried that they would enter another cold war or become hostile towards each other. However, to her surprise, instead of getting upset, Huston patiently took the initiative to bring up the topic of Lucas.
