Chapter 873 I'm Coming!
She took it, walked to the door, and inserted the key into the keyhole. However, her hands were shaking so hard that she failed several times. Benjamin couldn't stand it anymore, so he took the key and said, "Let me do it."
With a click, the heavy door finally opened. She flashed in, turned her head, and told Benjamin not to let anyone in.
The large office was quiet, and even the air was filled with an unusual silence. The man curled up on the leather sofa in the middle of the room and did not even raise his head when she came in.
She felt as if her heart had been twisted hard, and she felt pain. She quickly walked over and squatted down to call out to him, "Huston?"
The man's eyes were still closed, and he didn't respond.
She placed her palm on his forehead and wiped away the cold sweat. After testing his body temperature, which was a little high, she couldn't help raising her voice. "Huston, can you wake up?"
This time, as if sensing that someone was moving around him, the person on the sofa finally opened his eyes. His dark eyes were full of embarrassment. When he looked at her, his eyes lost their focus. "Evelyn?"
"It's me. I'm coming."
When he heard her familiar voice, he seemed to believe that she was there. He reached out and pulled her into his arms. His strength was violent and rough, and the hand on her shoulder almost crushed her bones.
She gritted her teeth and tried not to make a sound. She comforted him softly, "It's okay. It's all in the past."
She still had the pills in her pocket that she had taken from the cabinet before she left. She was told by Kevin not to give them to Huston unless there was no other choice because the pills are also addictive.
However, as she watched his pain worsen day by day, his heavy body became thinner and thinner. For the first time, she had a sense of panic that she couldn't see the end.
She pondered for a moment and said, "It's complicated, but not life-threatening. It's just a little painful."
She didn't go into too much detail. It wasn't that she wanted to be on guard against anyone. The more people knew about Huston, the more likely Huston would know.
Benjamin knew what kind of person she was. If it weren't for the serious problem, she wouldn't have kept her mouth shut so seriously. "Okay, I know. I'll try not to report the company's follow-up affairs to Mr. Lloyd and let him have time to recuperate. I'll report some important things to him."
She trusted him and she was grateful. "Thank you."
"Miss Shelton, you're welcome. This is my duty. I'm honored to be able to help Mr. Lloyd."
Although that was the case, no one owed anyone anything. Benjamin was just a subordinate of Huston. There was no need for him to worry about anything other than work. He could do this because of his personal feelings.
