The two of them sat on the rooftop in the wind for a while. When their mood calmed down, Huston took Evelyn back to the ward where Ben was staying.
Although they pushed the door open very gently, they still woke Lucy up from her sleep.
"Evelyn?" Lucy had just woken up and was still a little dazed. When she saw a black shadow coming over, she subconsciously asked.
Evelyn was slightly stunned. "Mom, did I wake you up?"
"What time is it? Why are you back so late?" Lucy picked up her watch and looked at it. It was almost midnight.
As she spoke, she raised her head and found that there was a vague figure behind Evelyn. "Who... is this?"
Huston walked out from behind her and took her tightly clenched hand. "It's me, Aunt Lucy."
These few simple words caused the air to quieten down once more, and Huston unconsciously let out a light breath as if he was being examined by an elder.
After a long time, Lucy walked up to them and said in a low voice, "Let's go out and talk. Don't disturb your father's rest."
The three of them walked to the end of the corridor of the hospital. Above their heads was the hospital's unique incandescent light, which made Huston's already pale face look even paler.
Looking at him, Lucy found it hard to say what she was going to say. The atmosphere was indescribably heavy, so Evelyn spoke first.
