When Evelyn woke up the next morning, she was held in a broad embrace. Huston's arm crossed her body, and he had already noticed it when she moved slightly. "You're awake?"
There was a hint of laziness in his voice.
Evelyn closed her eyes again, and her nose was filled with the faint minty fragrance of his shower. "I'm a little sleepy."
"You slept too late last night. Don't go to the store today." Huston lowered his head and kissed her gently on the forehead, afraid she wouldn't have enough rest.
Evelyn sighed. "Today, I have an appointment with the decorators. We need to discuss the blueprints and overall style for future franchise locations. It needs to be consistent."
"Isn't there someone else in your store?"
"I have to do it myself. I'm worried about leaving it to others." Evelyn looked at the time. It was almost eight o'clock, and she felt a little guilty. "I couldn't send Lucas to school."
Thinking of Lucas, Huston couldn't help curling her lips. "That kid will blame me again."
Every time Evelyn didn't have time, Lucas would blame it on Huston, thinking he had taken up too much of his mother's time. His eyes were filled with resentment, and he looked so cute that Huston couldn't bear to defend himself.
The two of them snuggled up to each other for a while longer. After having a simple breakfast, Huston sent Evelyn to the flower shop. It was almost 9:15 a.m. when he arrived at the HM Law Office.
Matt rarely saw him being late, and it felt like witnessing a rare sight. "It's rare to see you, the master of self-discipline, being late like this."
Huston was not embarrassed at all. Instead, he glanced at Matt and asked, "It's getting late when you brought Grace back last night, right? Nothing happened?"
