Chapter 169: Club Gather

Viren simply shrugged, smiling broadly. “Only time will tell, young Helstorm. Either way, congratulations again. Take today’s lesson deeply to heart. Reflect upon it and use it as a foundation for future progress.”

“I will,” Orion replied earnestly, bowing his head slightly in gratitude. “Thank you, Instructor.”

With their conversation concluded, Orion turned away, his body feeling lighter now despite the exhaustion from the battles.

The soft breeze carried away the last of his tension as he began wandering slowly through the academy’s pristine pathways, taking in the gentle beauty of the evening scenery.

The sprawling gardens and carefully maintained park areas around the academy provided a soothing contrast to the intensity of his recent battles.

Flowers of vibrant colors swayed gently, their fragrance mingling pleasantly with the cooling air. Students passed by him occasionally, casting curious glances in his direction, already whispering quietly among themselves, likely about his recent tower attempt as his name was refreshed on the ranking board.

Orion didn’t pay them much mind, absorbed instead by his own reflections. He considered every battle he had fought, every Echo he’d faced—especially the one that had decisively halted his climb.

That last fight had left an especially vivid impression upon him, pushing his limits to the edge and beyond.

[How does your first defeat taste, Master?]

‘…Quite bitter to be honest. All these questions in my head—”Would I have won if I had used Dragon Instinct?” “Would I have won if I had used Dragon’s Might?” “Would I have been hurt if I had more experience?”—is making me feel bitter and bitter.’

[…You tried your best, Master. That place is for training as well. If you only rely on your Dragon Instinct, then you won’t be able to truly learn your basics.]

‘That’s why I’m treating it like my trump card, since I get boosts on my base stats so it doesn’t matter if I train with it or without it. But I at least learned more about the sword and spear. I also got better at utilizing my weapons with spells.’

[Yesss! And that’s the most important thing, Master. You just need to keep improving. What will these tiny geniuses even do when you reach your peak? (ง •̀_•́)ง]

[But Master, wasn’t the Echo at the 50th floor too strong? How do the other students even cross him?]

Orion rubbed his chin while walking through the paved pathway and looking at the students. ‘Hmm, if I have to guess, then he isn’t as experienced as I thought. It just seemed like that due to my own amateur ass. And he shouldn’t be that hard to deal with for higher-tier mages who have more powerful spells than Warriors. After all, Warriors have a much larger advantage at the starting levels.’

[That last attack was really close. I felt my life flash before my eyes.]

Orion paused for a second before resuming his pace. ‘Flash huh… The Two Thrones flashed in front of my eyes just then,’ he softly said.

[Huh? You mean the Thrones from that dream of yours?]

Orion slightly nodded his head. ‘Well… I only saw them for a split second and nothing else. Anyways, it doesn’t matter since we have little to no information about them.’

The two of them continued to chat as before long, his quiet wanderings brought him back toward the familiar central garden—the usual gathering spot of Arya, Emilia, and him.

From afar, he noticed a small group of figures standing together beneath a wide, graceful cherry blossom tree, deep in animated conversation.

Arya was gesturing energetically, laughing brightly, while Emilia stood calmly by her side, listening attentively with her characteristic gentle smile.
