’...’ Orion blinked twice at the system screen. ’Are you fucking serious??’ he nearly shouted inside his mind.

[Ehhh, what happened, master? This seems like a decent quest.] ƒrēewebnovel.com

She asked in confusion.

’Haa... why this absurd mission?’ He rubbed his forehead. ’I was expecting more like reaching the top of the academy or building a foundation of my own in the Capital City. But this? This... haa...’

[Sorry, Master, but I don’t have any control over what quests are being given. It’s directly related to your fate. (。•́︿•̀。)]

’Anyway, I have time. I’ll try to look for her with Uncle Edgar tomorrow. He should be quite familiar with this place.’ He inwardly shook his head and decided.

[Yay! That’s the spirit, master! You can do it! ✧(>o<)ノ✧]

The carriage soon entered the city, and the first thing that came into Orion’s view was, surprisingly, a common area.

He could see civilians walking here and there while the carriages continued to head deeper into the city. He tried to look around to see if anything was different farther into the distance; however, what came into his view was the same peaceful scene.

"Grandpa, why is the inside of the city so different from... what I expected?" he asked Eldric.

Eldric stroked his beard. "What were you even expecting? That the commoners would be living in celestial mansions?"

Orion’s lips twitched; he couldn’t see anything inside from the city walls except the Royal Palace and the pillars. "I expected a more magnificent scene than this."

"Hahaha, you won’t be disappointed." Eldric laughed out loud and continued, "The city is divided into five sections. The outermost ring is for commoners and residents. The fourth ring is for the artisans and merchants; they have the different guilds and unions here like the Adventurer Guild, Beastmaster Guild, Summoner Guild, etc."

He paused. "And the real deal starts from the third ring, where the nobles and military reside. It has the bases of the nobles as well as the high-ranking military officers, and the Mage Tower of this kingdom as well."

Orion raised an eyebrow at the mention of the Mage Tower; he wondered what people did there. Experiments? Research?

Eldric’s voice grew heavy. "Then comes the second ring; it holds the core personnel of the kingdom. Thunderhall Academy, Duke Houses, Marquess Estates. That’s where the core power of this kingdom resides."

Orion noted this location to himself since he would be going to Thunderhall Academy soon.

"Then comes the final first ring, where the Royal Citadel is. Most people don’t have the privilege of entering that place in their entire life, but those who have can never stop singing its praises." He finished speaking and explained the layout of the entire city within a few minutes.

Orion’s expression turned contemplative. ’Didn’t Grandpa say he has a mansion near Thunderhall Academy? Does that mean he has a mansion in the second ring?’ He focused on what affected him the most.

Passing the Mage Tower, Orion’s eyes widened in fascination. The tower rose majestically toward the sky, its walls shimmering with countless runes.

Streams of magical energy flowed visibly around it, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle.

"What exactly happens in the Mage Tower?" Orion asked, unable to suppress his curiosity.

Eldric smiled knowingly. "Research, experimentation, and the training of elite mages. It’s essentially the heart of magical progress in Thunderpeak Kingdom. Perhaps one day you’ll visit it yourself."

Orion’s eyes sparkled with excitement at the possibility, already planning future visits in his mind.

Finally, the carriage approached the gateway to the second ring. Guards stationed at the entry immediately recognized Eldric’s token and swiftly granted them access, saluting respectfully.

As they entered the second ring, Orion felt another clear change. The streets were immaculate, lined with beautifully landscaped gardens and elegant mansions.

Noble estates displayed their crests prominently, guarded discreetly by powerful warriors. Orion could sense numerous powerful auras from every direction, each mansion a den of hidden dragons.

"This place is amazing," Rina murmured, eyes wide with wonder.

Fiora nodded in agreement, taking in the sights silently.

The carriage finally slowed, turning onto a private road leading up to an impressive mansion. It stood majestic, its architecture among the best in the area.

The property was surrounded by lush gardens and high protective walls engraved with intricate runes.

"Welcome to our Stormspire residence," Eldric announced proudly as the carriage halted in front of the mansion’s main entrance.

Servants quickly approached, opening carriage doors and assisting the group out. Orion stepped down, breathing in the fresh, mana-rich air deeply. He smiled slightly at the familiar maids and butlers who had left before him.
