Everett stopped.

Leona turned around and looked at the person standing with his back to her. She clenched her hands and rushed over towards Everett. She said, "Everett, I have something to tell you."

Leona said so as if she summoned up great courage.

Everett looked at Leona. Her eyes were filled with determination.

Everett looked away and walked up the stairs.
