Flash Marriage: He Made My Jaw Drop novel Chapter 131

Chapter 131

Eve had a nightmare.

She screamed in terror in her sleep, struggled desperately, kicked her feet wildly, and waved her hands to keep people away.

Vivienne tried to comfort Eve, but Eve scratched her face.

Vivienne ignored the pain on her face, hugged Eve in her arms, and comforted her softly, “Don’t be afraid, I’m here, don’t be afraid…”

With the gentle voice and the dependable smell of Vivienne, Eve slowly quieted down and fell asleep again.

Vivienne hugged Eve distressedly and said, “This child must have been stimulated by something and had a nightmare.”

Looking at the scene just now, Lainey also found it scary.

“Poor kid.” Lainey also felt distressed.

Vivienne hugged Eve gently, hummed a little tune, and patted Eve’s shoulder lightly, this scene fell into Lainey’s eyes, and she was shocked.

Those who didn’t know probably would think that Vivienne was coaxing her daughter.

Their faces, one big and one small were very similar.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, Vivienne looked up and said to Lainey, “Lainey, open the door for me.” “Okay.” Lainey looked away, turned, and went out to open the door.

A simple and honest man stood at the door and said with a smile, “Is my daughter here? I heard that my daughter is here.”

Lainey took a look at the man and said, “Please wait, she is sleeping.”

With that said, Lainey went into the room and told Vivienne the situation.

When Vivienne heard that the kid’s father had come, she went

out with the sleeping Eve in her arms.

The man looked mediocre and wore work clothes. He should be working on a construction site.

When the man saw Eve, he smiled and said, “This is my daughter Eve. She ran away this morning and we are looking for her everywhere.”

Vivienne said, “Excuse me, are you living in this community?”

“Yes, I live in Building 6, and my name is Simon Nguyen.” The man introduced himself honestly, “Sorry for bothering you, thank you. You can pass her to me, and I will carry her. I thought she ran out of the community. There are many cars outside, so I am worried that something happened to her.”

Vivienne didn’t mention Eve’s injuries and didn’t give her to Simon either. Instead, she said, “I can carry her. Eve just had a nightmare and didn’t sleep very well. I don’t want to wake her up, so I can go with you.”

Vivienne said to Lainey, “Lainey, can you stay here waiting for

the repairman? He will come later to repair the faucet.”

The faucet at home was broken, and these things had to be dealt with, as well as the water leak in the neighbor’s house downstairs.

Lainey understood what Vivienne meant. She wanted to

follow Eve to see the living environment and find out how the injury came about.

Simon wanted to refuse, but Vivienne had already walked

toward the elevator with the child in her arms, so he

swallowed the words.

Simon followed into the elevator, and Vivienne began to test him on the way to send Eve back.

After several inquiries, Vivienne found out that Simon was working on a construction site and often left early and returned late. Today, something happened on the

construction site, so he came back temporarily. Knowing that Eve was lost, he came out to look for her.

Soon, when they arrived at Unit 1, Building 6, Vivienne glanced at the room number, which was also on the eighth floor, No. 802.

Simon opened the door and said with a smile, “Miss Quinn, I can hold her. Thank you so much for taking care of Eve.”

As soon as the words fell, a mean voice came from inside.
