Being so nervous and scared because of Lena, Gideon realized he loved her.
He was just praying Lena would be well.
Gideon arrived at the hospital in a frantic rush and soon found Lena's assistant.
Although he and Lena had never explained their relationship over the past half year, the assistant was with Lena every day, and she understood it.
The assistant stopped the anxious Gideon, saying, "Ms. Jenkins is still in the examination room. Please don't worry."
How could he not worry?
Gideon tried to endure his impatience but eventually abandoned his composure and glared at the assistant. "I want to go in and see her."
After saying that, he tried to barge into the ward, but the assistant stopped him.
"The doctor said Ms. Jenkins is fine. She's just..." The assistant hesitated and glanced at Gideon. It involved Lena's privacy, and she wasn't sure if she should tell him. "Anyway, just wait here for now. Even if you go in, it won't help!"
Gideon sensed that the assistant's attitude was strange, but his thoughts were a mess, and he couldn't spare the attention to analyze why she was acting this way.
He simply sat quietly in a chair in the corridor, staring at the door of the ward.
The assistant, observing his impatient state, became even more curious. "What would he do if he knew why Ms. Jenkins fainted?"
While the assistant was lost in her thoughts, the doctor came out.
Gideon hurriedly approached and asked, "How is Lena?"
The doctor smiled and said, "She's fine. Congratulations."
"Congratulations to me?"
Gideon furrowed his brow. Why did the doctor's words sound strange?
