"What do you mean by pursuing? I come first!"
Damon was anxious. It had not been easy for him to get a chance to be alone with Charlotte. What right did the man in front of him have to interfere?
Joe ignored him and looked at Charlotte affectionately and intently.
Charlotte lowered her eyes and slowly ate the Golden Thread. Then she raised her eyebrows and looked at Joe. "It's just a pursuit. Do you think I can stop you?"
Joe's eyes lit up. He quickly walked up to her and approached her. "Are you sure?"
His burning gaze made Charlotte take two steps back. "It's just a pursuit, not a promise. Why wouldn't I dare?"
At that moment, Charlotte suddenly figured it out.
She used to rely on Joe wholeheartedly and regarded him as her whole world. After experiencing so much, she was no longer who she used to be. Even if she could be with him again, she would no longer be the same as before.
After understanding this, she became calm about his pursuit.
"No! There's still me! I came before him. Let me line up!" Damon interfered forcefully and stood in front of Charlotte.
He put on a pitiful expression and said, "Although I hadn’t shown sincerity before, I really fell in love with you! I hope you can give me a chance. After all, an old man like him is definitely not as good as me."
Charlotte was stunned and burst into laughter.
Old man?
Never in his wildest dreams would Joe have imagined that he would hear someone address him in this way one day, right?
As expected, Joe's face instantly turned ashen.
Charlotte tilted her head to look at him. Coincidentally, Joe's eyes met hers, and she subconsciously avoided him.
Damon snorted. "I know there's a saying in your country that A prodigal who returns is more precious than gold, but she obviously has more options. Why does she have to be with you?"
Seeing that the two of them were getting more and more furious, Charlotte interrupted them directly. "You go on, I'll go first."
After that, she really took out her bag and left the office.
Since she was gone, what were they arguing about? The two of them looked at each other in disgust and quickly walked out of the office.
Not long after they left, Brian and Derek walked out from the darkness with gloomy faces.
