Chapter 51 Her Face Was Livid
His gaze was so direct that Wendy subconsciously turned sideways. “Joe, why are you looking at me like that?”
Joe frowned slightly as his eyes fell on the birthmark on Wendy’s arm. What had happened back then surfaced in his mind. He suddenly asked her, “How did you escape at that time?”
Wendy was stunned and her eyes were a little flustered. “Didn’t I tell you already? A kind person accidentally passed by and saved me. If it weren’t for him…”
Joe stared at her for a long time before nodding.
After Joe left, Wendy collapsed on the bed, biting her lip without making a sound.
After staying in the company for a day, Mia took the two children back to her apartment and unexpectedly saw two figures.
“Mr. River and Mrs. River!” Ben and Anna jumped on them in surprise. Mia was also surprised by their appearance.
“Why are you here?”
Mr. River and Mrs. River were a couple. They had worked in the Clinton Family for many years. Since Mia was found, they had
been following her. They took care of her pregnancy, childbirth, and raising children.
However, they had never lived in Zyphoria before. Mia didn’t want them to leave their homeland, so she didn’t invite them here. She didn’t expect them to come here by themselves.
Mrs. River hugged the two children with a smile and said to Mia, “The children can’t live without us.”
She looked Mia up and down and immediately frowned. “I knew you wouldn’t eat well alone. You’ve lost weight.”
Mia didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She had gained a lot of weight after returning to Zyphoria. How could she have lost weight?
However, Mia was very happy to see them. “It’s great that you can come! We won’t live here today.”
It just so happened that she had already prepared to move to another villa, so she decided to do it in advance.
The children were very happy when they arrived in a new environment. After a while, they went upstairs with their small suitcases, leaving Tom to hand a box to Mia.
He looked a little serious and apologized to her with guilt. “There is indeed something wrong with these toys. It’s my negligence…”
Mia frowned. She had thought that Linda might not be a good
person but didn’t expect her to be so crazy as to hurt the two children.
She took the box from Tom. There were seven or eight toys in it, including plush dolls, robots, Barbies, and so on. They all looked normal.
