The two of them looked at each other awkwardly. In the end, they chose to leave without bringing Sandra.
Only then did Sandra slowly straighten up and hold the table with a pale face.
"Do you think that Huxley really likes you?" Sandra's eyes were full of sarcasm. "In front of the Faulkner Family, all feelings are useless."
After saying that, she was about to leave but suddenly stopped.
She looked back at Charlotte and said, "Don't think that I will be grateful to you just because of this. Every dog has its day. One day, I will embarrass you ten or twenty times more than I suffer."
Without waiting for her reply, Sandra strode out of the banquet hall.
Charlotte didn't take her words seriously at all. There were too many people who had spoken harsh words to her over the years, and Sandra would never be the last.
When Joe came back with a few cakes and drinks, he saw Charlotte sitting on the terrace and admiring the moon.
"Someone came to look for you just now?" Joe placed the plate in front of her "Don't worry, these cakes are not too sweet."
For some reason, the image of Joe carefully picking out small cakes suddenly appeared in her mind, and she couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Joe didn't know what was going on. He frowned and looked at her. "What's wrong?"
The more she saw him dressed in such a suit and leather shoes, the more she couldn't get that image out of her mind. She laughed so hard that she lay prone on the table and couldn't stand up for a long time.
Joe helplessly patted her on the back. He really didn't understand why she was smiling so happily.
Charlotte laughed until she had no strength left. She leaned back on the chair and lazily touched her forehead. "They just want to bully people in my name. There's no need to pay attention to them."
The change in the topic was a little too big.
