Charlotte was surprised to find that Ben was much more cheerful than before, and now he was better at expressing his thoughts.
She glanced at Joe. Perhaps all these changes were related to Joe.
After some discussion, the two children each bought something they liked, and the auction was coming to a close.
The auctioneer presented a picture of a heart-shaped island and gave a detailed introduction.
This island was located near the western coast of the South Sea, rich in vegetation and diverse wildlife species. It had never been developed before, making it the first time it was being auctioned.
Charlotte looked at the island in the picture and couldn't help but grow fonder of it. Perhaps it was a psychological effect.
The starting bid for the island was two hundred million dollars, and Joe immediately raised it to three hundred million.
Everyone present was stunned.
They had seen bidding wars before but had never witnessed such a dramatic increase of one hundred million at once. It was simply astonishing!
"Three hundred and fifty million," a blonde gentleman raised his paddle. He exchanged a confident look with Joe, both seeing determination in each other's eyes.
"Four hundred million," Joe raised his paddle once again without hesitation as if he were bidding four dollars instead of four hundred million.
The old man hesitated.
After some contemplation, he pushed the price to four hundred thirty million, which was already his budget's limit. If he continued to bid, he would have to give up.
Joe didn't waste any time and promptly raised the price to five hundred million.
No matter how much the old man wanted that island, he could only give up.
He put away his auction card dejectedly.
The auctioneer surveyed the room and loudly asked, "Is there anyone else who wants to bid higher?"
