Charlotte enthusiastically hugged Joe and planted a firm kiss on his face, saying, "I love this place so much! You..."
Before she could take a look at the bamboo house, Joe seized her and pulled her close, his voice low and husky, "I'll make sure to show you every inch of the bamboo house."
Sensing a hint of danger, Charlotte chuckled nervously, "That's not really necessary..."
Without giving her a chance to escape, Joe carried her into the bamboo house with firm strides.
And then, Charlotte experienced the exquisite bamboo house firsthand.
It was already three days later when they left the bamboo house. Charlotte's body ached all over, and she couldn't even take a single step. In the end, Joe had to carry her onto the plane.
Whenever Charlotte thought about this incident, she wished she could kick Joe out of the bedroom.
Fortunately, Joe realized he had gone too far. He had been very obedient these past few days, completely abandoning his usual high and mighty attitude as the president and becoming a good husband who listened to his wife's every word.
That was when Charlotte reluctantly let go of her anger.
On that morning, Charlotte gave Joe a cold glance and said in a cool tone, "I have a gift to give you."
Seeing her finally willing to engage with him voluntarily, Joe breathed a sigh of relief.
He nodded repeatedly and said, "As long as it's a gift from my wife, I like it."
"Who said I'm your wife?" Charlotte said with annoyance, "We haven't even obtained a marriage certificate yet."
The smile on Joe's face immediately faded, and he approached Charlotte, "How about we go get one now?"
"What?" Charlotte couldn't believe Joe had suddenly steered the conversation in this direction. "We..."
"I think it's a great idea," Joe continued, growing more convinced of its merit as he spoke. He immediately contacted Jack and Frank, informing them he and Charlotte wouldn't be coming to the office today.
