The expression on Charlotte's face stiffened, and in her heart, she silently scolded Damon for being unreliable.
"Well..."
Thinking about the programs Hilary had arranged, Charlotte inexplicably felt a bit uneasy.
But before she could speak, Joe took the initiative, "Actually, it's not a bad idea."
Charlotte looked at him in surprise, thinking she must have misheard. Was this a statement from someone who used to get jealous?
Seeing her expression, Joe smiled playfully, "What? Don't believe I'd agree?"
Charlotte hooked her finger and tugged at his tie, closing the distance between them, "What do you think? Who was sulking all day last time because of jealousy?"
Joe lightly kissed Charlotte's red lips and replied, "I did mind, but that's not a reason to hold you back."
Charlotte didn't expect him to become so generous suddenly. She was about to compliment him when Joe continued, "Besides, except for that day, you won't have a chance to look at other men in the future."
Charlotte finally understood; it was meant to bid farewell to her encounters with other men.
The previously tense atmosphere between them lightened with a few playful remarks.
Joe also knew why Charlotte was doing this. He looked into her eyes seriously and said, "Nothing is more important than you. You must protect yourself."
Charlotte nodded earnestly, "Don't worry, I will."
The next few days were calm, and Charlotte gradually let her guard down.
One day, after a meeting, she returned to her office. Just as she was about to take a sip of her coffee, she sensed something was amiss.
She lowered her gaze to her coffee cup and furrowed her brow tightly.
"What kind of weirdo is this person? To have such a hobby..." Mandy stared at the coffee cup in disbelief.
If it were a man, one could assume some perverted intentions, but this person was a woman. Could it be that she was also hopelessly in love with Charlotte?
Before long, Frank returned with Sharon.
"Just happened to bump into him on the way. I heard you encountered another weirdo." Sharon quickly glanced at the coffee cup on the table, his brows furrowing in disgust.
Charlotte looked at Frank, and Frank showed her a segment of surveillance footage. "This is everyone who entered and exited your office after you left for the meeting."
The group quickly reviewed the surveillance footage, and Mandy didn't take long to call a halt. "Look here!"
In the video, a slim girl entered with a stack of documents, but when she left, the documents were nowhere to be seen. Her expression appeared somewhat peculiar, a mix of satisfaction and mild panic.
